I’m a NoJoMo Failure (NJM15)

I typed that as "Faileur" in the title, and that made me think it would be a good faux-French word.

Yes, it seems like many before me, I have proven that I can’t get an entry a day into my journal – which, considering, is something I should be able to do.  Part of the problem is that I always want to write something meaty, not just filler – and meaty doesn’t always come out quickly. THAT sounds like the title of a very bad adult film.

Anyway, we were up late last night cleaning and cooking – my parents are coming in for a visit for the weekend.  Which is nice, but our house has been in a state, since we are in the middle of emptying all of the contents out of our storage unit (which we have been paying for since our last move – a story for another day) and into our new storage shed – so all the sorting and re-boxing has been going on in the family room.  Which means there is a lot of detritus in the family room.  Which is not good when family is coming to visit and you want to use said room.  It’s all gotten clean, though, so that is good.

My parents are supposed to fly in this afternoon, but after yesterday’s failure of the air traffic control system on the East Coast, it will be interesting to see if they are on time.  I swear, that software is older than me – and people have been warning forever that it will blow up someday and nobody will be able to fly – I think yesterday was just a taste of things to come.  It would have been nice if the government had thrown some of the stimulus money at building a new control system.

Well, I am still going to post thirty entries this month, by hook or by crook.  So I better sign off before I use up all my good material.

First noter!

You are not a failure or faileur, the first rule of NoJoMo is “There are no Rules”!! You are still on track. Fab Friday, DM.

November 20, 2009

nojomo is hardly conducive to meaty. even the deepest thinkers don’t have that abundance of thought, or time.

November 20, 2009

I’m back dating journal entries in the hope of catching up to the current date. Today is what? The 20th. My journal date stands at the 4th. It’s looking hopeless.

You’re only five days behind. You can catch up. Backdate a few entries, which it seems I am forever doing (although usually only by a day) and you can get caught up to the current date.

I feel for you with the storage unit . UGH . THat about says it . Yea, SOMETHING must be done with that system. I think everyone can agree that’s just WRONG . At first you don’t suceed … failure is just in the eyes of the beholder sometimes .

November 20, 2009

I just have to say Thankyou for that back dating option you put in here. It’s the only way i’ve been able to keep up with Nojomo with any sort of grace.

We attempted to switch our stuff from storage units in the dead of summer. I got such a burn just in this one spot in the yard… I may have discovered where a hole in the ozone resides. Nice adult film name there… So many options :-p

November 20, 2009

you’re funny. meaty huh? something so profound and life altering to the reader, something that knocks their socks off. well i’m not wearing socks. meaty isnt real anway. its conceived out of boredom. you’re better than that. you just better have 30 entries At Least. being that it is past mid month i think you owe interest. 🙂

November 20, 2009

They said this morning that one circuit board failed. 🙁 Why not leave the mess out and let the parents help settle it all. 🙂

“…and meaty doesn’t always come out quickly…” AHAHAHA. You took it to an adult film place, I took it to the difficult BM place. *smirks*

November 20, 2009

That article is from over 2 years ago. Are your parents flying in on a TARDIS?

what a mess with the air traffic! hope your parents make it there on time. take care,

If it happens that you are a teenager, you can make any non-sense entries every day. That’s because being a teen you have hot blood running in your veins. Teens are restless creatures. LOL But when we are getting older, it seems that every day entries seems im-po-ssi-ble. Need something to cook the blood so that we are running so hot to do this! he, he, he …

There are no failures at NoJoMo…so keep working at it. You’re doing fine…

I say as long as you’ve been trying, you’re not a failure. 😉

November 20, 2009

Heehee! This is hilarious! That desire to write something “meaty” is why I usually don’t post very frequently, and this month has simply highlighted my (almost) daily *shortcomings.* I also have a living room frequently crowded by stuff from/for storage, but it’s in an ongoing basis, as my husband and my daughter’s SO are both into internet reselling stuff as a way to supplement extremely low incomes. However, as to the air traffic control system, that’s a different story. Now, THERE’S a failure.

November 20, 2009

I’m the ultimate NoJoMo failure, but I note at least one person every day. I wonder if that counts. ;>} The fact that I wasn’t traveling was at the top of my gratitude list yesterday.

November 20, 2009

i wasnt aware of the air traffic failure so im off to read about that…scary

November 20, 2009

I hate to fly and this is just one more reason not to, grrrr! Don’t think of yourself as a failure, I didn’t do it either. Sometimes life just gets in the way!

November 20, 2009

It’s OK Hon. NoJoMo wouldn’t even exist without you in the first place.

November 20, 2009

“Yes, it seems like many before me, I have proven that I can’t get an entry a day into my journal – which, considering, is something I should be able to do” WHY does ANYONE consider this important? Posting a journal entry every day is no more an accomplishment than peeing every day. A journal entry should have purpose and meaning for the journalist. Hell, I write in my private offline journal almost every day, but if I miss (or skip) a day, who cares? This NoJoMo silliness is about quantity, not quality. If you decide you have nothing meaningful to post, that’s not failure, it’s intelligence.

November 20, 2009

Oooh, I didn’t hear about that. A lot of people at my company fly, so I wonder if it affected them. I love reading your entries, so you are not a failure. That being said, I can’t write on command which is why I never attempt it 🙂

Wow, I haven’t seen “first noter” in years! Don’t beat yourself up. Even a diary master has a life outside OD.

November 20, 2009

this is the second time it screwed up too. If I’m not mistaken it was another holiday time when flights were heavily booked. I’t’s soon going to be that no one remembers how to manually do things when computers fail too.

November 20, 2009

Don’t worry. I haven’t been able to post every day, either.

November 20, 2009

its scary to say the least that we’re functioning on such outdated software. My husband is a software developer as well and his company worked on updating NORAD (which then moved out of there anyway) and he said that the computers and software were soooooo old, it was a joke. Our defense system relied on that. At least now, they have updated, which was a LONG and painstaking process and not even a SMART one.

My boss landed in Newark yesterday with out a problem so I’m hoping that your parents lucked out as well. Have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the time with your parents.

November 21, 2009

Dear DiaryMaster….no worry…I would never be able to be a member…but, I love to read entries from you whenever you post….I just sit here in amazement of how far OD has come…have a great visit with your Mom and Dad…Ollie

November 21, 2009

Don’t worry, I haven’t been doing so well with it either.

November 21, 2009

You are doing better than me. I didn’t even begin with NoJoMo.

November 21, 2009

Is there anyway to upload my diary onto my computer?

November 21, 2009

I support your idea of only writing meaty stuff. Five meat-worthy entries are worth a whole month of drivel.

Don’t feel bad, we can be failures together as far as NoJoMo is concerned. I have plenty to write on, just nothing I feel like writing about HERE.

It’s okay, DM…I’m sure no one will call the NoJoMo police out on you… *laughs* Hope your parents made it in, safe and on time! 🙂 Take good care!

November 21, 2009

*grins* that’s a good attitude. I read one woman who is still on a number from long ago. I think she should be done by about January, but she also writes a real lot in each entry. You cam do it! *smiles*

November 21, 2009

I’ve failed before… it’s OK. *hugs* lol. xoxo

…boy, it’s like you admitted to being a faileur and then gave up even trying. 😉
