Another Word on Reader’s Choice

Hello and hope you all had a swell weekend,

Some people have mentioned that there should be a limit on how many entries an individual can nominate to RC. Actually, there is – but the same check that wasn’t working for multiple entries by the same person (see previous entry), was the one that’s supposed to limit a person to one nomination at a time.

That was fixed along with the other thing, so at this time a diarist can only nominate one entry to the RC list at a time. I hope that made more sense than it sounded like.

Playing favorites suck! Many a diarist that I’ve read since I’ve been here I cannot access for whatever their reasons. How to I go about contacting these diarists to ask to be admitted? Also if a diary is on fav only and I’m not on their list why should it show up on a recent entry for me to try to access? Is there any way to control this?

Also, will there be a way in the future to keep certain diary colors on certain pages instead of every time I change colors every entry goes to that color. I would like to see my Xmas entries one color, Spring another etc….

Since it seems you’re really into upgrading and fixing things on here, I’m wondering if I can make a request? First of all, I looove the private note feature. However, what would be even better is if the diarist had the option to also make a note private that is left on his/her diary that the reader did not make private. I have received some notes that I didn’t want…

to delete, but I didn’t really want out there for public display either. So, me being allowed to keep my note but make it private would be really great. Just a request. Have a great day.

You’ve got to be working on the site, because the drop down bar thing is not at the top, about a quarter of the way down.

Did you or diary staff get my complaint about pics in enteries. If so let me know if someone can fix the problem

I think you should make the diary description editor into one that’s like the entry editor. That would make me want to change mine more.

Let me see if I understand this correctly. If for example I nominated this entry for Reader’s Choice then I would not be able to nominate someone else till this entry was no longer on Reader’s Choice?

Mr Diary Master, you know I love you. So why then, did Editor’s Choice disappear? I really and many others miss it; so many people found so many wonderful diaries through EC. Are there any plans to bring it back and if not, what’s the reason behind this?

i went to type my entry for today (which ended up benig a survey) and it told me that my entry was over 7,500 char. but it wasn’t… does it count hidden html markup? like colors etc? have a great day…respond, por favor.

Why don’t my new entries show up on the front page? The one before mine and the one after were there, but not mine. I didn’t swear or anything, so what the Hell? I even deleleted it and reposted it- and it skipped me again. I don’t like this.

Hi – before I had this diary, I had reader’s privileges on Gattaca’s diary – he’s a personal friend. The name he gave me was “tallblue”. Unfortunately, someone who does not like me (diarists Katrinka and Gestalt, if I’m not mistaken) have taken that “tallblue” name and used it to make a diary that is on favorites only. They know that the name “tallblue” is part of my email on Yahoo. They (c)

are busy leaving notes all over OD in that diary name, very derogatory and insulting notes. They are leading people to think that the tallblue diary is mine, when in fact it is not. Is there a chance that diary could be deleted? After all, it is breaking the rules by leaving nasty notes… wouldn’t that be enough grounds? These two people also did this to a diarist named “Esoterica”, from what (c)

I have been told. I would appreciate a solution to this very untenable situation. They are offending friends of mine and I’m having to do a lot of damage control. Greg (Gattaca) would vouch for me, that I have only one diary. I am spending Christmas with him – he is a good friend who knows me pretty well. Thank you.

Later – it seems they’re just maintaining the diary in order to make fun of my fiction writing. That I can ignore. *shrug* I’m to be published next year – if they’re jealous, that’s their problem. But thanks for letting me vent! 🙂

people are making fake diaries just to nominate themselves to readers choice. maybe you should consider some sort of policy where a diary can’t nominate someone for RC unless it’s been on the site for a certain amount of time, or contains a certain amount of entries. it’s really transparent when a crap-ass entry is on RC and you go look at the diary that nominated it and it’s empty.
