A Name Thing

Hello everybody,

We’ve added a feature today that will make it easier for you all to remember where to find your diary, and also (I think) easier to let your friends know where to find you (if you want to).

What we have added is a virtual name service, which is a fancy way of saying that there is now a simple, direct web address that you can use to access your diary.

This means that any diary on OD+ can now be found by typing the address of http://www.opendiaryplus.com/username, where “username” is the name of the diarist.

For example, to jump directly to my diary, I can type “www.opendiaryplus.com/the diarymaster” in the address bar of my browser – and I will go straight to the contents page of my diary.

Notice that my name has a space in it, and that’s okay – the software will account for spaces and handle them appropriately.

This should give us all one more easy way to get around the site.
