Reaching for the Curtains
Six years ago today, I moved to Chicago. It seemed like there were a lot of us moving here then. We had a lot to take in and a lot to figure out on our own; I guess I never thought this through as far as I’ve gotten. The dull realization, the thousand-yard stare, of knowing I’m the last one still here has resurfaced recently as more move away. I bet you already figured out this wasn’t just about Chicago, though.
