Wide Open Spaces
Feeling free, clear, and accomplished.
(My Entry Title is in no way reference to the Dixie Chicks Song–to the quote. Lol).
This weekend, I was able to take part in one of the most incredible opportunities. One of my guy friends who I went to high school with, currently lives in Big City also and he works for a concert-production company. There was a big concert in my hometown at the concert venue that I worked at during summers of high school, and he asked me if I wanted to work in the catering department for the band’s personal chef!
As a Food and Beverage Manager, I HAD to jump at this opportunity.
Not going to lie, I was really freaked out and nervous. I can’t tell who the famous person/band was 🙂 But I’ll just say they are really famous and tour every year. I was also dreading doing this as it was extremely high pressure. But after the 3 days of doing it, it was incredibly awesome, I made a TON of money and they were extremely grateful for everything I did for them.
Mostly what I did is stock their tour buses with their requested food/drink items. Pretty cool! For something that was nerve-wracking, stressful, etc., I am SO INCREDIBLY glad I did it. Myself, as well as everyone else, needs to jump at those scary unknowns because some of the coolest/best blessings/learning experiences came come from them.
And good ass money. Hahahahaha
Anyway–my full time job is stressing me out of course but hopefully I will get that figured out when I go in tomorrow. Bleh. Lol. My management team is fucking stressing me out and a lot of other stuff about it. But what are you gonna do? They pay me a LOT of money to do events. Can’t complain! Haha.
In the relationship department? Things are better than ever. If you didn’t read my last entry (I suggest you do, LOL) a LOT has changed since then. Jason, not in the picture. At all. He text me once like over a month ago and I just ignored him. Mitchell is my future. I basically decided to stop being a dumbass–I was torturing myself trying to pick between the two! When in all actuality, there was no competition! Jason, shitty. Mitchell, amazing. And our relationship is literally better than ever. I’m feeling so clear and so level-headed.
This never happens. 🙂
Other good things? My old, shitty apartment (lol)–got it all cleaned out and am now officially living with Mitchell. I expected to get like, half of my deposit back on account of how old and shitty it is. Last night we got home REALLY late from working the concert, checked the mail–ended up getting ALL OF IT BACK! Can’t even believe it. So after making about $1000 from this weekend, I came home to another $700…. WHICH…
will come in handy for VEGAS on Saturday!!! AGHHHH!!!
I’ll be in Vegas from Saturday until Monday for the BACKSTREET BOYS CONCERT!!! I’m obsessed! Mitchell and I got a REALLY good deal on airline tickets and hotel! $284 per person for 2 nights! So we were like fuck it, let’s go.
And then on the 22nd, we go to CALIFORNIA for ballpark trip/Disneyland!!!
September is going to be a frickin’ FABULOUS month. But at my full time job, I am SLAMMED. I am so hoping that the week I’m gone isn’t insanely busy. I don’t know yet, normally don’t have event stuff until the week before so we will see. 🙂
Anyway crew, life is good. 🙂
Hope you all are well too!
Much love,
-Elle
