being christian in the 90s
On one of the church trips I went on in high school we met this guy with floppy hair who knew how to play “My Heart Will Go On” on his recorder. My friends all acted like that was the ultimate panty dropper (or whatever the christian equivalent of that would be).
Anyhow, I hope he’s got a great husband and dog and maybe a couple of kids now.
the end.
This made me laugh so hard… hit me just right tonight.

If I was supposed to audibly guffaw at this post, it was a success
if I wasn’t, my sincerest apologies
@laynemeyer2 fully the point. youth group culture was such a weird, useless bubble to exist in. i can’t imagine another set of circumstances wherein a 16 year old playing the *recorder* would be considered attractive.
@the-idiot so glad I was t involved in that. Although, if I had known recorder playing would’ve made the girls swoon…
@laynemeyer2 i mean, it’s not a hard skill to pick up. and not all of the girls – some of us were a little more aware.
@the-idiot The recorder playing or being aware? Because I was a damn good recorder player. Being aware? Eh, not so much.
@the-idiot For clarifications sake, I did not learn to play the recorder in any youth group.
@laynemeyer2 😂 what a lost opportunity
@the-idiot You have no idea of how much that is an understatement.
