A shame that the Six Flags commercials are on a national basis, because to watch them, you’d think our local park was the home of fun or something….

Unfortunately, the park near us is Six Flags America, which is essentially the red-headed stepchild of the Six Flags parks. It’s one of the smallest, and just isn’t very well maintained as far as we’re concerned. There’s a few decent rides… but just not enough to justify the fifty-dollar entry fee. *sigh* (We have season passes, I should note, because it is cheap enough to have and because that entitles us to free admission at the other SF parks, including Great Adventure when we’re heading up to see my parents. And, when you factor in that admission to SFGA is actually more expensive than our season passes to SFA…) The real rub is the parking – they raised the rates to $15 a day, which actually still makes our pre-purchased pass (for $20) a steal…

But anyway.

It’s time for the bi-annual Maryland State Art Council competition, so I’m getting together a list of the poems that I’m going to submit. I’m allowed up to fifteen pages of poetry, so I’m open to suggestions from my readers….

I am going to reserve some time later on to go through your entries and pick a few gems… 🙂

Hey there. I was browsing the Interests section for other Marylanders and I poked in here. I just wanted to say that I agree with you wholeheartedly. I grew up around here, and if you did, maybe you’ll remember when it was Wild World, back when it was clean and maintained. Now it’s disgusting and depressing. I was so disappointed when I went there last summer. Take care!
