daylight

daylight
seeping through gauze
intruding on slumber
bourne upon soft footsteps bearing
a gong

Well, the new year’s going to find that Ayeka’s and my bedroom now has darkness during most of the night – there are curtains on our front window, and she’s going to hang the other set today above our bed. Scary, to realize I can sleep again without a mask.

Still, without the mask, the light level changing rouses me more quickly than before. I’m finding that the slightest shift outside tends to rouse me when I’m already beginning to wake up… to the point that it’s actually kind of amusing.

Though even I’ll admit that the streetlight filtering through the curtains (not perfectly light-blocking, but enough so that the room is dark) is oddly soothing..

i love a dark room to sleep in…for some reason my mind tends to think the place is cooler with the lights off… i know, i know…i’m a freak of nature.
