Update on Thomas’ Passing
The preliminary cause of death has been declared “Respiratory Failure.” They will perform an autopsy tomorrow and we hope to know more 24-48 hrs. afterwards. I hope we get some much needed information from it.
DH and I are doing good. His father is still in the hospital and will hopefully be released to go home in a few more days. We’ll check in tomorrow and see what’s going on with him.
Not much going on here except that our ant problem has returned — in the same place — underneath my built-in stovetop. They’re actually coming in through a crack between the floor of the cupboard and the back of the cupboard. A space so small that I doubt you could slip a piece of paper through the crack, but they pop up and out like it was nothing. So out comes the pots and pans, in goes the new ant bait — clean all of the counters with 409 and wipe everything down. DH took out two ant hills in the front yard the other day. I told him it was payback! 😉 And we’re seeing signs that our mole is back in the back yard. Our little feline neighbor has been alipping…I also saw a lizard sunning himself on one of the posts out on the deck the other morning. Laying there like he hadn’t a care in the world… Going to have to have a heart-to-heart with Carl if this keeps up.
The weather is a-changing — Fall is trying to appear; our evening temperatures are dropping down into the 60’s and there’s a nip in the air in the early mornings that speaks of pumpkins and frost. Nice… I think I’ve had enough of Hot Summer Days…
Be safe, be well, and please be happy. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them.
Any time a Thomas passes the Universe becomes a little poorer.

We love you too. So very sorry about your nephew. Almost equally as sorry about the ants. G says carbourator cleaner will kill the ants, wipe out the trail, and they never come back. Not an environmentally sound way of defeating the ants. LOL You have my address? http://urban-archology.blogspot.com/ There’s a link to G’s new blog there too. He’s got a nice train picture up.
