Snip, Snip, You’re done!

DH had hernia surgery yesterday and he was in and out in less than 3 hours. We went to the Millenium Surgery Center in Bakersfield. Modern, immaculate, efficient, welcoming and the whole experience was stress free. There was hot coffee for family and those who waited on the patients; the staff was attentive and thorough. Not a bad way to go through surgery!

On his first day post-surgery, he’s stopped all of his pain meds and has moved up the food chain from Jell-O to chicken soup. We had him on diet 7-Up and Jell-O yesterday, but the 7-Up was giving him abdominal gas so it’s back to coffee, iced tea and water tomorrow. Follow-up with the surgeon in a week and he should be able to drive and move about more freely by then.

Not much else going on around here but tending to the ‘recovering’ patient. All is well…

Be safe, be well and please be happy. Know that you are loved and you make a difference in other people’s lives. I participated in a huge artist swap many years ago. For my project, I chose a tea bag folded card as my project. The kit contained a completed card, with instructions and materials to make a new card. Each of the 75 artists made 75 packets for their unique project. We shipped them to the hostess, who then redistributed the kits to all of the participants. (fast-forward to today), That same swap hostess, whose name I recognized as being familiar, but not knowing exactly why, is a member of a 3-Dimensional Card Group I belong to. She posted several Fairy cards that had teabag folded elements in them. I wrote to her and complimented her on her work. I asked if she would share her teabag folding instructions with me as I had taught a class on teabag folding for the local museum last year and wanted to add her models to my teaching plans. She wrote back and said "Sure. You’re the one that got me started in teabag folding when you participated in the artist swap those many years ago." I never realized how one small act could come full circle to me the way it did.

Be sure to tell those you love that you love them. It’s important!
