Hide & Go Seek
What a world we live in when at our advanced age we can still play a silly childhood game like Hide & Go Seek and break into laughter over it. Our house has a circular ‘heart’ to it. You come in the front door and go in either direction and you meet on the back side of the house. On top of this, if you go all the way to the right, you go into a short hallway that is also a circle but it has a small alcove shaped like a V with a bookcase on either wall. Perfect hiding place for bodies, large OR small. Our grandkids love our house and get great enjoyment chasing one another around in circles. But I digress. Oftentimes, the urge to hide will hit DH or myself and we’ll just ‘go silent’ — that’s when the other partner knows a game is afoot and will begin doing the required ‘search’ for the partner. And at times, like what happened a bit ago, an impromptu game will begin…. DH stated he was going to go to the garage. I asked him for a kiss before he went, and he said, (jokingly) NO! I jumped up from my office chair calling out "You will if I chase you down!" Well, the game was afoot–I walked around and didn’t see or hear him. Just as I was about to give up and go out to the garage, figuring he’d gone ahead and went as he said he was going to do, out he jumped and scared the wits out of me. He brought out the desired scream of surprise from me and we both had a good chuckle over it. I asked him if he thought that perhaps sub-consciously we designed our house specifically so we could play this childish game with one another. He said he didn’t know (with a twinkle in his eye). Whether it was planned or not, we do have fun with it, and as Martha Stewart would say, "It’s a good thing." And so it is…
Blessings to you all, be safe, be well and please be happy. Be sure to tell those you love that you love them.
I LOVE Hide and Go Seek. I can’t wait until Eli is old enough to play it. It won’t be long, he already crawls behind the couch and hides.

Wonderful behavior at any age. Hub used to pile the tupperware and other light storage containers, which resided in an overhead cupboard, against the door so when I opened the cabinet they would fall out in an avalanche at me. He didn’t need to be in the room to enjoy my surprised YELP.

A student jumped out from behind lockers to scare me the other day. I did jump.

The Ikea is in Chandler at the intersection of I-10 and Warner Avenue. There are several other stores in that area, including a Dick’s Sporting Goods and Total Wine. I shouldn’t be allowed to go into that place without a keeper!
