I’ve Got a Boogie ….

It all started with a laugh … and then the tears started to well up in my eyes … for I miss you so much xxxxxxooooo

I was at work and a co-worker was sharing something that brought what we shared to mind … I told her I had to tell her a funny story but it wasnt so funny after … it just reminded me of all that we shared together … and how could you forget me and how much I love you…. where did my little boy go

Super Bowl Sunday  1/26/97 (2 years 10 mos old)… you and me and your sisters were the only ones home … this was the way it usually was just us 4 ..
You were playing hide -n-go seek with you sister … being your carefree happy self you ran upstairs to your bedroom .. decided to change your direction leaving your bedroom you turned the corner a little short and sMaCk into the corner of the wall … you split open your forehead on the corner where the two wall met.

I quickly picked you up and laid you on the bathroom counter supporting your head and neck with a rolled towel.  Your sisters were right there so concerned and willing to do anything to help.  Nicole got me the phone and I dialed 911 from there… a few minutes later help arrived and we got into an ambulance.  Your sisters stayed home while I rode with you in the ambulance.   LOL … you wouldnt sit still … the tears had stopped and you felt better but your forehead didnt.  You wanted to know about everything in the truck and wouldnt lay down.  We arrived at the Strong Hospital emergency room and had to wait a good while.

When the surgen arrived we went into another room and I went with you.  The doctors wrapped you in a sheet – I thnk that was the worst thing they could have done … you felt trapped and scared and you were screaming and crying you couldnt hear me and I was right there with tears in my eyes … I wanted to spare you the fright and pain … but I didnt know how.  I just kept talking to you calmly and when they started to stitch your forehead I placed myself under the sheet so you could see me and you yelled …. "I have a boogie in my nose!"  you asked for your passy and I gave it to you and you feel a sleep and the doctors finished stitching you up.  I was so greatful that you fell a sleep and were resting.

When all was said and done. . . we were picked up and went home together.  You had a bandage on your forehead and the first of more scars to come… that made me sad. Your sisters were so scared and worried about you that they cleaned your bedroom and picked up all your toys and waited for you.  Made me proud, made me smile.  I love you all so much !

I always kissed you on your forehead before you went to sleep.
