Party, Party, Party!

Politics and Elections can be a frustrating and boring event at the best of times but this morning’s voting cheered me up no end!

This year the NSW ballot paper has 110 senate candidates, Victoria 97 and Queensland 82, and voters must number at least 90 per cent of these boxes to have the vote declared valid.

So I can just put a ‘1’ in and only ‘1’ in one box on the top line or I can number the bottom squares from 1 to 82 with my choice.

Of course its a no brainer so job done I voted ‘1’ for the party of my choice!

I just couldn’t stop laughing though at some of the ratbag parties on the voting sheet.

I liked the ‘Pirate Party’ and googled it and its big in Europe!

And who couldnt love the ‘Sex Party’. I suppose there big on SEX! Of course that is safe sex, as they handed out condoms at their launch.

The ‘Help end Marijuana prohibition (HEMP) Party. A fun little group who got kicked out of Alcoholics Anonymous for coming up with an alternative to booze.

But the one I loved the best came from the Victorian ballot paper and it was the ‘Party, Party, Party.

You just gotta love the Australian sense of humour and healthy disrespect for politics.
