From East to West

The ceiling provides a relaxing distraction while lying on my back on the floor. By staring at the ceiling, I can see past the ceiling and venture off into a dreamworld. Thinking back… I wonder where it all started. How was I capable of enjoying my four days in sunny (well, cloudy) California, but then upon arriving in Idaho found myself in awe.

Boise, Idaho, is where I flew into. Not a very "happenin’" airport I must add; but it was nice. An airport that does not stress me out and provides a tranquil walk through the terminal is okay with me. It is a good day when the lady working security can have a nice conversation with you while she sifts through your duffel bag looking for the item that set off the sensors.

Six days and five nights were enough to have me hooked.

With plenty of mountains in the background and rock facades to be climbed… Have I died and gone to heaven? My original plan was to go to college in California, study to be a filmmaker and computer techie extraordinaire; but what is this city, this state that has me enraptured? Why do I feel the need to pack all my belongings and head to Idaho?

I ponder my choices constantly. Is it worth just going to a college to get a degree in something? After all, most people do that anyway. Let’s all get a degree in something, but never get a job or start a career that has anything to do with it. The benefits of a college in California is that careers are available upon graduation. Where is the spontaneity?

I feel like there is something missing. Ever since my return, even after the lost and found luggage and the jet lag, I feel like something is not where it should be. I feel out of place.

I came home very early Sunday morning… but I think I left my heart in Idaho.

MsNoSign gave me a shout… yeah, this place is pretty cool! I’m a transplant from northern CA – in my third year here and still amazed by all the sights.
