Slowly drifting into a peaceful breeze
Tongue tied and twisted
are all my memories
Celebrating a fantasy come true
Packing all my bags
Finally on the move

Alana and I had most of our bags packed for the trip back to France. We both needed much rest and having it here at school would not be an option. We could be making a journey back to our mother’s house. The death eaters would never leave the school grounds to find Alana, and besides, who would want to look at mothers whore house anyhow?

“I think I have everything,” I said outloud as Zeke sat on the suitcase.

“I think so too. I’ll miss you, Tawnie. What am I supposed to while you’re gone? Who is going to keep me company?” He questioned.

“I don’t know Zeke…maybe study or spend time with Kaden or something.” I was in a hurry to get Alana out of her. “It’ll be okay. I’ll be back before ya know it!” I gave him a big hug and a kiss. “Come on Colin and take our picture!” I said happily. I placed my lips on Zeke’s as Colin snapped the picture. “Perfect!” I gave Zeke the picture. “There ya go. I really will miss you darling but I have to get her out of here!” With that, I gave him one more kiss and headed back to France.

Told from Kaden’s POV

Things may be calm in my life once more with Ms. Delacour gone. As much as I love her, she seems to bring havoc in her presence. It will be nice for my brother to make some friends around here while she is gone too.

“Hey Kayleen, Cedric,” I said walking up to them.

“Hey Kaden!” Kayleen beamed at me. “What was all of that about the other day with Tanya all over you?” Her mood quickly changed.

“Oh that wasn’t really her…it was polyjuice potion…it was her sister. It was a big mess.” I laughed. “But she and Alana will be gone for a while so things may be okay around here for awhile unless Piastol or someone else causes trouble,” I scratched my head. We all laughed.

“Eh, mate, she can be a handful but totally worth it in the long run if you really get to know her,” Cedric put in. I believe he could tell that Kayleen and I wanted our alone time because he suddenly said “Gotta go!”

I looked at Kayleen’s stature. She was still wearing the bracelet Justin gave to cover up the cuts she thought I knew nothing about. It was too early to confront her about this. I don’t want to push her into talking about something she isn’t ready to yet. – At the same time, I am worried sick about her, and if I don’t try and do something, maybe someone else would get involved.

“It’s been a rough semester…with all of the deaths,” I looked around the ruins of the school.

“Yeah….it’s almost unreal the price you pay to your mental life once you receive that letter stating you’ve been accepted to Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry….” She then began twirling her bracelet. I could tell she was getting nervous.

“It must have been hard on you, especially…losing Justin and all. How long were you together?” I suddenly found myself asking questions I didn’t mean to.

“About a year…..we were so close….almost like Colin and Tanya were. We were friends before we got together and then we just fell in love one day I guess. He was taken too soon from me.” She then began to get really quiet. “I’m sorry. I can’t talk about this right now,”

“It’s okay. I’m sorry for bringing it up.” I then realized how awkward I was making it. I had to do something. “Let’s get out of here and do something totally crazy!”

“My brother would kill me if he knew I was skipping class with a vampire!” She then covered her mouth with her hands. “I didn’t mean to say that!” She looked embarrassed.

“Oh its okay. I can take care of him!” With that, we were ready to have a day our own.
