Hundred-Fifty-Six: Time To Dance Part One.Five
I can live without you
but without you, I’ll be miserable at best. ââ¢Â¥
.Tanya Faith.Yule Ball
Katie don’t cry, I know
You’re trying your hardest
And the hardest part is letting go
Of the nights we shared
Ocala is calling and you know it’s haunting
But compared to your eyes, nothing shines quite as bright
And when we look to the sky, its not mine, but i want it so
Told from Kaden’s POV
I sat at our table. It was awkward silence between everyone. I could tell that Kayleen was struggling with conversation and Tanya was taking advantage of it. For some reason, I didn’t mind. Maybe it was all I had to look forward to. Kayleen knew how to get Tanya’s attention – a trait that not many women could do.
“So Kayleen – how is potions?” Tanya asked stirring her drink.
“Fine…” She began to twirl her bracelet.
“Want to dance, Kaden?” Tanya suddenly ask me. I nodded. “Zeke – you should dance with Kayleen.” Tanya suggested as they both turned a bright shade of red. “It’s okay Kayleen. He doesn’t bite….much.” She winked as I burst out laughing.
Let’s not pretend like you’re alone tonight
(I know he’s there and)
You’re probably hanging out and making eyes
(while across the room, he stares)
I’ll bet he gets the nerve to walk the floor
And ask my girl to dance, and she’ll say yes
Told From Third Person POV
Kaden elegantly took his hand and placed it in Tanya’s. Though he was much taller than her, it was still a perfect match. His fingers were laced between hers in perfect harmony. For once in his chaotic world, things were calm. He gazed deeply into her eyes like at the mansion and pondered if she felt the same.
“So what made you want to go with Kayleen?” Tanya broke the silence. Kaden didn’t respond. “Kaden?”
“I’m sorry, what?”
“What made you want to go with her?” He repeated.
“Oh! Um…” Kaden thought back to Mrs. Burbage class when he read his essay out loud. “We were both available.” He said.
Tanya sighed in relief, curiously. She suddenly became interested about his feelings for Kayleen. “So it’s not like a…date?” She hesitated to asked.
“No!” Kaden quickly replied.
They continued to dance. It was as if the rest of the world disappeared. The moment couldn’t have been more perfect except….
“Now we will have special entertainment from the Delacour family!” Dumbledore announced as everyone cheered. Tanya still gazed heavily at Kaden.
“Come on, cuz!” Fleur grabbed her arm.
Tanya walked up to the stage and observed everyone. She wanted this song to be perfect because of the special guest.
Sometimes the girl with the most confidence can fall the hardest.
