What’s new…
We had the housewarming party on the 18th-20th but only a few people showed up even though I invited about 75. Six on Friday night, no one on Saturday and four on Sunday. My sister, two of her kids, Jimmy’s friend Dan, Jimmy’s sister-in-law (she’s his brother John’s widow)and their son Ian on Friday; my friend Missa and her three kids on Sunday.
I’ve missed living here (I just realized I need to change my location on here)and I know the kids are going to love growing up here. 🙂 Our neighbors are super nice (the ones we’ve met anyway)and there’s a ton of kids here for our kids to play with. The neighbor on our right side (left if you’re facing our house about to come in, right if you’re leaving it)is the mom of two girls my husband and I went to school with. Her and her husband have some animals and one of their cats (a grey female cat)had 6 kittens kind of recently and all but two had been given away. The other two were going to be giving to people who live on a farm as barn cats but hadn’t been picked up yet. Apparently, a couple nights ago something got into their house and killed one of the two kittens (a white, kind of skittish one)and the black, grey and white kitten (the one who came over to our house and visited us for a while)disappeared. They asked us to keep an eye out for her and let them know if we saw her. Yesterday morning a woman who lives near us came over with her son asking us if we’re missing a kitten. I immediately said "Yes! Well, the neighbors next door are anyway. Is it a gray kitten?" and she said it was and that she’d bring it up so we could give it to our neighbors (she tried their house and didn’t get an answer)so she did. We played with her for a while but then I thought of how worried they were about if she was still alive or not and brought her over to their house. The woman wasn’t there (gone to Idaho for a wedding)but her husband was and he was so thrilled to see the kitten. Our neighbors across the street (they brought us cookies when we first moved here)came over because they were outside and apparently the woman asked them if they were missing a kitten and they said no. They’re getting one soon, though. I kept looking around the house and thinking I heard a kitten every two seconds. Now I can sleep, because the kitten is safe. They’re keeping their garage doors shut and keeping her in the house so nothing can happen to her.
Awwwwww poor kitten! I’m glad you at least found the lost one though. How sad that the other one died. 🙁 I HATE losing cats. Unfortunately, I have lost a LOT of cats over the years, and 4 of them just vanished without a trace. 🙁 I’m keeping all of my new kittens inside every night so hopefully that won’t ever happen again.
