Shopping with my niece…

Went to the mall with my niece (she’ll be 15 in February)and bought her a bunch of stuff. She may be 14 but she reminds me of my kids in how she doesn’t take no for an answer and how she wants everything. They at least don’t seem to think whatever they want they will get, though. They also at least seem to understand the meaning of money. I told her I couldn’t buy her everything she wanted (and she seemed to want everything)and that we had bills to pay and groceries to buy (I need new shoes)and she said "So?"

She’s also supposed to be monitored when she uses the Internet, which I didn’t know. I’ll have to e-mail my sister and find out why. She also said that (Brittney)she has to look up stuff about careers for school but the whole time she used the computer here (other than the two times we played TS2: Nightlife)she was on myspace. I also told Kim and Kevin (sister and brother-in-law)that there would be some ground rules for when Brittney was here. No using the computer all day long, maybe for an hour or two at the most. When I ask her to watch the kids for me so I can make Jocelyn a bottle, change her or Amelia, make lunch, etc. that means actually watching them. Not at the computer on myspace while they get into everything. Not expecting us to buy her tons of stuff… etc.

Anyway, speaking of watching the kids instead of being online – I should go. I need to get something to eat, make the kids a snack, do some housework, etc.

*hugs*

RYN: Olivia is not aware that we (troy and I) are fasting. She’s too young to understand or even know. We still have breakfast lunch and dinner with her, but its something I can drink, or soup, things like that.

Olivia is not on the fast at all. She is aware however, that she is eating something different from what mom and dad are eating.

Heh. She’ll learn someday…:)

Thank you girl. I already have been wearing the Roly Poly website out the last few weeks though. LOL. Mary gave me the link – I think – and now it’s one of my most frequently visited places! LOL. I am nutso for those wraps. Yummy yummy. šŸ™‚ Thanks for the comments and for looking it up for me though. That was very sweet.

RYN: Yeah, Cohen would have no concept at his age of a time out and doesn’t yet have the empathetic nature to realize what “that hurts Mommy” means (which doesn’t mean I’m not still saying it, LOL.). It’d be so much easier if he were a little older. You need to call that manager’s district manager. Ridiculous.
