The Crabby First Birthday *PICS*

 We had Sabastain’s birthday party this weekend, and I do think it was a scucess. It was the first party I hled where I wasn’t so stressed about the details, but instead felt confident and prepared for the event. I tried to keep it simple and fun. We had bubbles which all the kids loved, I made a music playlist of "sea" themed music, we had a pinata, and cupcakes and goldfish crackers. 

The big kids played, the little kids played, all in all everyone had fun. 

My parents before the party started. My mom is bundled like an old lady, because more and more these days she is. It was quiet windy and cool but not freezing. 

His cupcakes, they were super simple and cute. I love how this picture turned out. 

The pinata that arrived in the nick of time. 

He wasn’t so into opening his presents, but he loved when they were toys! He got very few toys actually. Instead he got clothes which he needed more of. 

He was also super into this bow.

One of the best presents came from his sister. She found him a plush radio flyer rocking horse. She insisted we buy it, and she even negotiated the price and paid for it herself. I am so proud of her and she is proud of herself.

This has to be my new favorite picture of them. him smiling, and her being so loving and protective over him. My heart melts. 

We did the pinata then. The kids loved it. It was a pull string so much safer! The kids loved the candy in it (kit kak and cherry lifesavers) and because of the shape not all the candy fell out and so the adults got candy too!

 

After the pinata we did cake. Sabastian loved this part!

He cried when his cake was gone. 

The kids like the cupcakes as well. the other blond girl is Caitlin my niece. The other 2 are friends, I love when we spend time with them, the kids seem to get along really well!

Here is my brother and future sil. His face healed nicely, and I can’t wait till he proposes. It is  no secret to anyone they are getting married it is simply when?

Sabastian’s cuteness simply takes my breath away. He is so expressive and smiley something I am not used to in a child. I remeber when someone else was one and she didn’t smile. Not like this. It is so amazing to see him progress. 

The rest of the party went well, people gradually left, and it was nice, the clean-up was easy, and I was left with a pretty clean house!

Having the party outside was a great thing. The only complaint was the wind, and Caitlin is kind of a challange to be around. She has behaviors which are undesireable. 

I was so happy to have the wonderful help of my sister which was awesome in sitting up and tearing down. Charles and Liz the Lady friend too

k pictures. My mom’s aid took the time get her here without issue. All the moms watched the kids throughout the party completely invaluable to me, and everyone seemed to have a good time. Both of my father in laws were even in attendance. I have never seen the one attend anything, EVER. Something about having a grandson does his soul well. 

The best part of the day was Samara! She had a great day, was a great big sister, helper and hostess. She took sensory breaks when needed, and knew to go to her room and shut the door when needed. I was so amazed at all the progress she has made. It is simply awesome. 

WIth this party behind us I can focus on halloween costumes, and start planning our next first birthday party, just think its only 18 months away~!
