On the surgery

He did need the surgery done, both the tongue and the lip. his tongue didn’t cup, so he couldn’t swallow right, and he couldn’t move it from side to side. The bubble pallate is permenate, but he will grow into it better as he ages.

The dr. was wonderful. the staff was nice. The procedure was awful. SImply horrible. They swaddled my happy smiling little guy and then I had to help hold him while they used the laser to release his lip and tongue. It was the worst thing I have ever had to do, and I never ever want to do it again. I could really use a hug, and I still want to cry…  You know who didn’t even call to check on us.

He is furious with me, and not smiling right now.

He still loves B.

He has been nursing easier, I am in a lot less pain, and he seems to be more satisfied sooner. Although on the way home he was to angry to nurse.

I saw my childs tongue move for the first time today. when he cried his tongue curled. It was a good moment even though he was screaming.

He is drooling more now.

His mouth looks awful. Simply awful. It will heal though.

Samara was the best sister in the world today even though we had to travel, and she had to put up with screaming baby man, she was so wonderful.

Today was a long long day, one I am glad to be done with.

I never want to have to do this again. I know however this is for the best, and I am happy you all helped me help him.

Thank you everyone for everything.

Lets pray for sleep…

Poor guy–and poor mama! That can’t be easy. 🙁 I’m glad it is over, though, and that you are already seeing positive signs. I hope he heals very quickly and that things continue to improve. 🙂 I will respond to your note after I do a bit of checking on a few things. 🙂 I passed your link on to Brigid. 🙂

I am so happy that you saw immediate improvement and it will only continue to improve! And yes… being the one to hold them down SUCKS! He’ll forgive you. They always do.

I’m glad he made it through the surgery well. I hope he recovers quickly. <3
