name, child, & pressure***
I have so much homework & housework to get done, but i have to write in here. I have been missing this place, but with three kids and finals looming over me, I have been at a loss for time. I also have been trying to keep my house somewhat cleaner. It bothers me.
What"s in a Name?
I have written in here before that his mother hate’s Sirris’ name. She wanted me to name him Richard.
Well she took it a step too far.
She told us she is giving him money when he is older to go legally change it. She told us she cries at night because he has the worst name in the world, and kids will make fun of him for it.
Really? Because Richard is better?
I have 2 responses to that.
1. Kids don’t know any better, they accept things like names at face value. It is only when adults tell them differently that they question it.
2. All kids are made fun of for somethign at sometime. Be it their name, or their apperance, or something they did. If it isn’t his name it will be something else.
I happen to love his name. It suits him, and I am in love with it. It might be one of my favorite names. His name means :brightest star" such a beautiful image, and one I hope he grows into.
She needs to keep her mouth shut, because if he becomes self concious at all about it it will be her who planted that seed.
I truly feel this ranks up there with trying to annul my marriage.
It all boils down to her not respecting our choices as adults. She still feels she knows better, even after 10 years of Travis not being under her roof she still feels she is in control and right.
She even brought her dirty dogs over to my house this weekend. Something clearly against my house rules. I have few rules in this house but that is the number one.
Once again it is about respect. We are supposed to respect her, and she we try, but it goes both ways.
I think next time she calls with plans we will be too busy…
A growing Child
Sirris turned one month last week. He is simply awesome. I am still having trouble nursing on one side. It is like nerve damage. I think it is a vasospasm. I want to wean the one side, but then I will be severly lopsided. I wish there was something I could do. I am worried abtou his crying. It is so quiet. He is a quiet cryer even when angry…
The other is he chokes on his milk like Sabastian did…. Only worse… It is concerning
Samara and Sabastian are doing really well too. Therpay is doing Samara really well, and her behavior is awesome. We have been getting compliments from perfect strangers on how polite and well beahved she is. It confirms all the time we have invested in her is paying off.
Pressure
My blood pressure is still too high, and not repsonding to any medication. I am being sent to an internal medicine doctor. The ob thinks it is secondary hypertension. which is something that is a result of something else.
I looked it up and it doesn’t look good.
Something like my kidneys heart or thyroid could be causing it, and then they need help… She is thinking it has always been there, but the baby has thrown my body off.
It is good I am done with kids because physically my bdoy can’t do this again. BUt my heart still feels a void. I can’t explain it. Where will this child come from?
Last week was nice, I got to go to the Vera Bradley sale with a fav and it was pretty awesome. I got the new bag I have been wanting.
This weekend the zoo opens and I am excited!!!
The insurance company finally descided the accident was not my fault! I get the rest of my settlement money now!
And with that Sirris is screaming…

As his GMa she has the right to voice her opinion ONCE. Tell her to back off and if she doesn’t that there will be consequences. As far as the dogs…I thought you understood we don’t allow dogs in out home. You’ll need to make other arrangements for them. BTW# I like his name, too. Hugs

I have a different name and I knew it as a child, even without anyone telling me so. You are right, though. She should only voice her opinion on it once.

*hug* when I told people I was going to name my son Dante they said I wasn’t Italian, they said “you’re naming him after a volcano? (Dante’s Peak.) But his name fits, it means enduring and everlasting which the way he fought to come into the world and be part of it fir perfectly. He’s my little inferno and now everyone sees how well it fits him (got the name from Dante’s Inferno the great comedy)

My parents and inlaws hated my sons name too, but as the years have passed they’ve accepted it. Richard is a tad unoldfashioned!

I think there’s always that feeling of a missing child, especially when you’ve lost one (be it through miscarriage, etc…). I think his mom’s out of hand on that. It doesn’t matter if she likes his name or not… she didn’t birth him. People think I named my youngest after Gabriel Iglasias… we didn’t.

I keep meaning to note from my computer but I never get on it! Anyway your MIL is being rude m. I think Sirris is an awesome name. Ignore her comments. *hugs*

I think it is great that Samara is doing well! People hated Salem’s name forever. I finally just told people it was none of their business, including both of my grandmothers.

That’s rediculous. I think I would have to not let her around my family if that’s how she talks to you. *hugs* Ya know, while I may not name a child that, I certainly respect his name and your right as a Mommy to name him that. It is a cute name, afterall! I don’t know him personally but I def take your word for it that it suits him! And I would never be so disrespectful as to take my dogs to someone’s house when their wish is to not have any inside! Also, so sorry that Sirris is having feeding issues. Will you get him the surgery like Sabastian?

Whaaaat? She is nuts!

Wow…that’s odd that she’d be that involved over the name thing. I know when our daughter named her son Jensen we thought it a different name, but now he’s ‘Jensen’ thru and thru….Hope your mom comes to understand that, too. 🙁
