Burnt Chuck

 I don’t know if I mentioned it in here or not, but my brother is an amatuer fire eater. He uses it to evangalize to youth, and really enjoys doing it. HIs act is entertaining, and he is really passionate about it. 

Well Saturday night he was at a camp, and descided to try fire breathing. It isn’t something he normally does, but he wanted to try it. He was outside Mistake 1. He wasn’t prepared fully, mistake 2, it was windy mistake 3. 

As you can guess what might have happened, as he tried to breathe the fire out, the wind blew back in his face and he has 2nd degree burns on his face, and hands. 

He went to the er and told him he was lucky. It could have been worse. He knew not to gasp and breathe in the flames or fumes, so his lungs are not burned, the er docs were impressed. His hair is gone around his face, and his facial hair is really gone. 

He went to the burn unit today to see what more to do. They don’t think it will scar horribly, or at all. The skin is not falling off so that is the good thing. 

I feel so bad for him. He called me at 2 am, something he never would have done. 

The good thing in all of this has been his girlfriend. She has been amazing. Taking him to the er, reemaining calm, and taking care o f him. I could  not have asked for a better woman to come along my baby brother’s side. They will be getting married I hope sooner than later, and this even though it is hard, I think is a good thing. It shows their commitment to one another, and gives them a glimpse of how one another will handle life. 

I hope he heals quickly, and with minimal damage to his face. What a place to burn yourself.

As for his act, he is still in prayer if it will continue or not. I don’t blame him for being hesitent. 

School starts tomorrow here, and I for one am happy to be able to keep my little ones home with me. So many parents are rejoicing their kids leaving, and free time. I would miss them. I like having my little ones with me, and sharing the world with them. Even if they are driving me particualrly crazy some days. 

Samara is a very strong willed child, with communication issues. I get the strong willedness, she got it from me. I see now how much of a fun child I was. 

Sabastian, ahhh he is a toddler. Where did my baby go? He is into everything, moving all around, and all together crazy. This is all new to me, and as much as he is exhausting, I love seeing him progress typically! Typical kiddos are pretty different to me, but I am excited to have one!

And with that the spaghetti monster himself is yelling at me to free him from his confines. He needs a bath. He is a messy messy man.
