Baby blankets & Invites *pics*

I am trying to get more things done for this baby while I am on break. That includes starting to actually buy things for this baby.

I was at joanns today and they had new flannel in and they had it half off. I found some I loved. I have been looking all over for nice receiving blankets. I didn’t want blue/brown/green/pastels. I wanted black and white. I wanted them to match the baby blankets I already bought, and I wanted them to coordinate with my carseat (see 2 entries back for that).

These are what I got.

I am in love with it!

The chevron pattern matches one of my other blankets perfectly actually.

I just need to serge the edges of them and viola receiving blankets! I paid about 15 for them and will get about 6 blankets. Not bad really.

Here are the existing blankets I have gotten. I am in love with them.

(please disregard my gross carpet, no mater how many times I shampoo it and vaccum it it gets gross within a few days.  I am sure the only solution is to just rip it out.)

Here is the blanket my mom and sister made for the baby, had I shared it? I love that it has spiders on it.

I am quiet pleased with my black and white finds for this baby. I am so over all the gendered crap available for babies. I love black and white, and am pleased not everything is so pastel or brown.

I bought a couple of sleepers today as well on clearance. I think I have enough now. I am quiet pleased with this. Not that they are black, but at least he will be warm.

I was talking with my sister tonight about how my grandmother would die, if she knew I was putting black blankets and outfits on my baby. She did not approve of my obsession with black and she let me know it. I loved her and she loved me but this was one thing we didn’t agree on. Of course I would love to have been able for her to meet my babies. She loved babies so… Ahhh one day when we are all in heaven we will meet again… I miss having a grandma sometimes.

My sister also made me the most beautiful baby lunch invitations. They are so pretty.

I am not having a shower this time around. They are too much work. I don’t like half of the people I am obligated to invite, and although I need things desperetly, it isn’t worth it. really.

Instead a few of us are just going to lunch. We will be celebrating the birth of this baby in hopefully the lowest stress way possible. We are going for sushi, and I am pretty excited about it really.

Tomorrow should be another day. I am hoping to enjoy the quiet at home, Samara is home with me one more day and I love it. The idea of sending her back to school makes me ill really. I am not looking forward too it at all. Only a few more days till her iep meeting, and then we will see where we go from there.

I means I just love my silly little girl. Life has been so wonderful with her home… We are going for a fun surprise this weekend and I can not wait.

I hope that the transition back into class won’t be too bad, and once the IEP meeting gets underway, they can get her the help she needs, even if it’s one on one care like my son gets in a contained classroom. He’s on-level now and one day we might be willing to transition him to regular classes in a regular school.

Love the blankets! So cute!
