aba, surgery,

Today is Travis’ birthday, I am supposed to be making him a nice dinner with a t-bone steak and cherry pie… This just means I need to be making something.

My week has gone haywire stressful due to Tricare and their aba changes. It is bad… Like bad… I can not fully expand on it here, but look it up if you like. There are trolls out there stating we have entitlement insurance and need to be grateful. Well Tricare is NOT an entitlement, it is insurance provided to the military while working, and can be included as part of a severance package and for retirees. They work for it, and we pay taxes, how is this an entitlement?

I think if I am super crazy enough we can keep her covered, but alas, it shouldn’t be so hard.

Plus, if you remember I am already paid for 40 hours a week to care for Travis, and now the government is mandating I am not doing enough for ABA, and need to be unpaid to be trained to care for Samara better as well or they will cut off services… I am worried because she is in therapy while I am in school. It kinda feels like a slap on me flashing in big bold letters, YOU’RE SIMPLY NOT GOOD ENOUGH, YOU FAIL.

I am anxious/excited for the week. It will be a long and stressful week, it begins with too much therapy for 2 kids, and ends with Travis having surgery… I am glad he is finally getting some releif, but it will be harder on me. I am excted to go to dinner with a fav and go see the star wars exhibit!

Just a few more weeks and then I get to spend a week with friends, and then family. It will be awesome. I just have to get to then….

Best of luck and keep on trucking.

ryn: I think we’ve had this conversation before… I believe E/I in MD is called Infants and toddlers. She had been in it since October. However, currently we are in between because we switched counties. I’m waiting for the county’s intake person to get back to me to schedule a visit.

Aww Happy Birthday to Travis! 🙂 And good luck with the healthcare crap… that sounds sooo stressful! *hugs* ryn: Yea, I looked up *actual* Hippotherapy places and not only do they not have one in my city, but the prices they quoted for the one result that was close was rediculous! Like $180 for only 50 minutes! I was shocked at how much it cost. So… I just looked up “Horseback riding in Pensacola” and found a very cost effective alternative. Turns out, she DOES work with people for Hippotherapy, she just isn’t licensed but really all it would be for me is simply riding the horse and being taught how. She also offers dicounts for the disabled so that was an added bonus. So it would cost me only $40 for a half hour, and the price doesn’t go up much from there and she says that she would first teach me to be comfy on the horse in 30 minute intervals around the ring then we could go on hour long trail rides! I just have to make sure I prepare for the heat and take a lot of stuff to help with it! 🙂 Love,
