WEDDING NOTES-maids in waiting

My lovely Brides maids. These girls are my nieces aren’t they just the cutest. Since I’m such an old spinster woman, *cough* 41 *cough* I decided to make them a part of my wedding celebration. My sisters don’t have a problem with not being the maids–they have been in plenty of weddings. –I have 5 sisters and we have all been in each others weddings. I have been a brides maid 7 times!!!

Now I’m finally going to be a bride.

I knew I was getting old when at past weddings when the bride called for all the single girls to catch her bouquet I would ran to the dance floor with stars in my eyes in hopes of catching the toss. I wanted to win in order to be the next one to marry. However, what I didn’t expect was to fight over the toss with all of my lovely nieces.

I never did catch the bouquet, but sure put up a good fight though.

Brides Maid 101

My version

Assist me in getting into my buckskin dress and help with my

war paint

Make sure I eat – (food, water, etc) all the way up till the time I walk into the Medicine circle. I don’t want to get sick from not eating.

Assist each other in getting ready

If I decide to back out of the wedding and get cold maccosins by all means drag me to the circle.

Be the witness in the signing of the marriage license which is an honor!

Assist the guests to their seats and be social prior to the wedding. The guests love to see the bridesmaids and groomsmen out and about.

Always look for the unexpected since it is common for the most uncommon things to happen. If you are close enough, fix what needs to be fixin.

Make sure to mingle and have a great time at our party! It is mandatory to catch the bridal bouquet 🙂

You must assist our guest with the reception seating arrangements. Make sure to dance all 30 songs.

Last, but not least, Provide moral support and be a great listener throughout the process since it is a very wonderful and “positively” stressful time for your auntie. You can really make the difference!

Dance ALL 30 songs – good you picked the young girls. They look up for it.

hmmmm now if there isn’t a groomsman for them to dance all 30 songs with do they get to dance alone????

You, my dear, have an extremely beautiful family.

SOOOOOOO exciting! You’re really beautiful. RYN: I’m shy too. The first time I did this I was in the biggest panic. Just in case: The barbecue diary is called “babushka blue” and you’re already on the favorite’s list. There’s not much there yet, but come leave a note to say hi!
