WEDDING NOTES –CAKE IN YOUR FACE …NOT!

Just to let you know there will be no cake in my face….

I had to google the wedding cake tradition to see what’s up with it

Most people don’t associate the wedding cake with having lots of children anymore, instead the wedding cake has become kind of a first meal for the bride and groom. Today’s couples cut a slice before anyone else and feed it to each other, symbolizing the support they’ll provide through their many years together.

or this one

Nowadays we are much too civilized to crumble cake over the bride’s head. Instead, the bride and groom cut the cake together and take beautiful photos…and then, in some cases, the groom lovingly smashes the cake in the glowing bride’s face – not too civilized after all are we?

Now, I got that over with lets talk about cake..

These cakes are so yummy you don’t wont to waste a single calorie.

I’M HAVING A BEACH THEME RECEPTION

So. so. so, I have been having bad dreams about my future wedding cake. Completely stressing out about the cake so dear readers please help me decide….

I LOVE B!!!

March 14, 2006

I vote for the first one. It is lovely…

March 14, 2006

Both are pretty, but B really catches my eye/

March 14, 2006

They are both gorgeous! But the first one really caught my eye. It just looks more like a beach – Ocean theme. It almost looks too good to eat. The other one looks too fancy schmancy to me. The first one is just beautiful.. and has a calm look to it.. Haha, a calm cake! A all the way!

I love B! Oh, we had lots of arguments about him not smashing the cake in my face on the big day. He was convinced it was tradition, and therefore he was going to do it, no matter what. I forgot what I threatened that finally made him agree not to, but it worked. And then I smashed the cake in his face! HA!

looks like we are 2 and 2 right now.. ha ha… some help we are!

I think A is more…..appealing. I wouldn’t want to eat B. M.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Numero 2…………. Yeppers……yum

I LOVE B!

I hate the whole cake-in-the-face thing. We most certainly did not do that!

March 15, 2006

Both are beautiful. I am wondering if your colors match cake A, if so then that’s a nice one. Cake B looks more elegant and goes with the beach/wedding theme. Smashing cake in the brides face would be cause for the first martial fight in my case!! 🙂

I like B. What really counts is the TASTE. Not like any bride actually sat down and had a whole piece of cake. Hummmmmmmmm, I coulda made a naughty note out of the above, really easy.

March 15, 2006

I liked B better.

March 15, 2006

Definately B………..so elegant

I liked A

March 15, 2006

I never understood cake in the face. It’s so disrespectful. If you are going with a beach theme, then I like the first one better. The second one looks a lot more formal. The first one is beautiful, completely original, yet casual formal. It looks like you have votes on both sides, so you’ll have to let us know what you choose.

March 15, 2006

Leave it to me to come up with this, but A brought a picture of eating sand to my mind, I like the beach idea but…B is a little too formal, but if I pick one or the other, it would have to be B.

March 15, 2006

I really like B!

March 16, 2006

smashing wedding cake in faces is not a custom here. thank god. of those two, i’d choose b.

March 16, 2006

ryn: almost forgot…i used microsoft picture it software. very easy to do.

March 16, 2006

I really like B!

i really like A but it probably depends on the colors of your wedding because of the blue…

March 27, 2006

I love them both, but I love the second one just a bit more.

March 27, 2006

I like the second one. They’re both nice and beachy, but the second one says “remember…I’m a wedding cake.”

March 27, 2006

i would be so upset if my fiance even thought about smashing our cake in my face… i definitely like option b better… i think it looks more elegant.

March 27, 2006

I love B, and I’ll tell you why I like it better than A. :o) Blue really narrows your field of colour choices for everything, and cake A has a LOT of shells on it. Cake B has a really pretty pattern, but not a lot of shells. However, I don’t care for the gold look, and if you feel the same, I’m sure you could alter it to pink or cream or anything. Beach receptions are fantastic. Have fun!

March 27, 2006

I like the first one, such a lovely color!

I like the coral design on the 2nd one a lot. the tradition behind cake is that it is a symbol that you will provide for one another. through this, you provide one another with a taste of cake. or something like that.

I love B. The first one is a bit busy for my tastes. I am having a beach theme reception as well (getting married in Jamaica) so I am looking for ideas too 🙂

I like the second one. The first one’s a little…too much for my taste. The second is simple but elegant.

eww those r ugly

March 27, 2006

i like A 🙂

Well Mike IS REALLY amazing. But those shells look too real. I dont know about you, but Ive had sand in my mouth and I have nightmares about it regularly, so I wouldnt go anywhere near either of these cakes! But if I had to choose one, Id choose the second MINUS the sand. The shells look like shells but also look like candy, so its alright 🙂 I love fondant.

I knowthe sand is sugar, too, but still. I would stay away. LOL I love the coral pattern on the second as well.

March 29, 2006

I love A. It’s just pretty. Are those sugar shells? Are the eatable in other words? Take care!

March 30, 2006

I like the first one. I said “oh wow” when I saw it, for real.

March 31, 2006

light blue/gray not good if someone has had too much to drink.. just saying.

I like B better. A is lovely, but my first impression was that it looked more like a seashell display than a cake, lol.

April 3, 2006

I like B. When we went to pick out our cake, thw two of us and the cake guy agreed blue was an odd color to eat. As for cake smashing, my fiance and I agreed not to do it. Why make yourself messy! I told him he’s going to have to face all that peer pressure and he said he’d handle it. 😉

April 4, 2006

I like B. Actually, they’re both beautiful (quit stressing!), but I think I like B a teensy bit more.

I really love the first one!
