THE CALL OF THE WILD
My whirlwind honeymoon is now over and it’s time for me to take a deep breath and relax let me tell you those cruise ship people sure don’t let you rest they keep you on the go.go.go. Toward the end of the trip Eddie and I just hibernated in our room like big grizzly bears in a cozy den.
I gained 10lbs–thanks to food on demand. I’m fat for once in my life I feel fat! My pants won’t even zip up and I didn’t even try to do the buttons.
Eddie gained 4 lbs
The thing about cruising is that there is no time to really stop and smell the roses for fear of missing your cruise ship, train, bus, plane and riverboat. I wanted to be able to take my time eagle watching, kick back in the sea kayak and listening to the glorious sounds of nature, I wanted to hug the hell out of the sled dogs–what wondeful, friendly dogs. I could of spent more time watching the lone brown bear swimming in the lake–if only I could get a tad bit closer to him but time wouldn’t allow for it. I wanted to spend more time examining all the fabulous native art and jewelry but the boat’s horn was honking. You are on the Go. Go. Go. makes my head spin.

There were about 2000 people on the this cruise and out of the 2000 people I swear there were only 100 people 45 and under–no joke! So we spend much of our time with the older and wiser population. I don’t mind so much because I work with the older population. I would find myself leading out my helping hands to a few in distress. One little old frail lady was practically ran over by a wheelchair…these old people are on the go.go.go. but even faster and quicker than the youngsters.

to be continued–I got to start thinking about going back to work –wondering if I should call and get the low down?? I hope no one died while I was gone. I do have two on hospice.
nope–I need to get some good shut eye
I can hardly wait to hear more. 🙂

when my folks went to Europe when they were 79 they were told they’d do a lot of walking. They went out and walked everyday to be ready. They out did the younger people that were there.

Welcome home Mrs. Eddie! Glad you had a nice time but your right about cruises though. THey sure do wear you out. Personally I don’t like to have so many time constraints, especially if I’m having fun somewhere but then again I do love a cruise! I can’t wait to see/hear more and am so glad your getting settled. Take care, hun……..

I’d love to take an Alaskan cruise, but that’s my big fear: I’m sure most of the people would be older. Glad you had a good time, though!
