MR. Marley Rules

Lately, I’m finding it so hard to focus and write an entry. There seems to be a lull in the activity on Open Diary. I was pondering this morning of diarists that I miss reading. I don’t really now what happened to them, perhaps they fell off the face of the earth. Nurse Betty, Coyote Kismet, jmelyn, Charmingly Neurotic, Wings, Daisy Full, Going My Way, Valentine Guy, Domino and Pluscreep. I hope they are alive and well. I’m thankful for the the diarist who are completely faithful: BBTL, Leisah, Whispering Writer, At Last, Ginger Snap–just to name a few.

Cabin life is great as ever–there is no looking back on my former way of life. My health and happiness is flourishing. Husband is just as happy and working everysingleday!!!! I’m working again with memory impaired Residents at a lovely place in Issaquah, albeit, the hours are not the best; 12 hours on Saturday and Sunday and 4 hours on Monday and Tuesday evenings. I have Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off. It takes me 45 minutes to get to work but fortunately the traffic is light and easy and it’s all on highway 90 at 7o miles an hour. The down side is that I never get to spend quality time with my husband and I’m alone so much I look toward the future in hopes of better hours. My supervisor has asked me if I would ever consider stepping into the memory coordinator position. (more money, m-f weekends off) She thinks I’m a “better fit” than the current coordinator. I’m just letting things play out for now, I don’t want to step on too many toes. I only have 12 residents now instead of 55 at my former employment. There is much down time at work and less hustle and bustle that I’m so accustomed to…really it’s as slow as molasses in January. I do make the best of it though and spend an ample amount of 1 on 1 time with each the residents. They love to have me read chicken soup for the soul books,Reminisce magazines, and poetry. They are the sweetest ever and are always paying me such lovely compliments and jockeying for my attention. I will write more about each one of them in another entry.

Pacific Crest Trail Hikers–Rock! I see them hanging out at the summit–so jealous. these hikers are living my dream. I should just get my back pack and go with them–oh so tempting.

I’m so glad things are working out so well for you. Those hours don’t sound too bad and that place you work at sounds like a dream for a nurse with so few patients assigned to you. I know what you mean about the OD slump. Sometimes I don’t even bother checking for updates because most of my faves don’t anymore. I’m blaming it on the format change when they upgraded.

Wings — Not sure, didn’t read Daisy Full — I think she also went FO Going My Way — This one I think I read from time to time, but I don’t know. Valentine Guy — still around, writes fairly infrequently Domino — no idea Plushcreep — recently gave up OD for good he says.

oh, thanks for the note. so nice to hear from you. i also noticed a lull in OD activity this summer. i’m glad you are thriving in your new life! yay for a paycheck! i definitely feel like i can’t turn down work.
