Guardian Angels on Alert

It’s snowing it’s snowing! Old man Winter has blown himself into town announcing that he is here to stay until the end of June. Yes! you read that correctly UNTIL THE END OF JUNE. I have been lazy today watching the snow flakes dropping down but what I should be doing is putting together my emergency kit for my car: jumper cables, cat liter, ice scraper, shovel, warm clothes, blanket, flashlight, extra batteries, first aid kit, food, water, lap top (to watch dvd’s in case the pass is closed which means it could be a long wait) and to always make sure I have a full tank of gas, oh and not to forget assigning guardian angels to watch over me and include God as my co-pilot. So with all that said I really need to get busy and get off this couch.

I just checked WDOT (washington state department of transportation)

Shaking my head

Here is the latest weather forecast

Oh fiddlesticks, I’m scared about driving in the snow. I have a 4×4 car with my new snow tires. Things should be ok right? I dunno. I have never really driven in the snow before of this magnitude. My husband tells me I’ll do just fine and not to worry. I know he is just saying that so I wont panic but can’t help it I’m a worry wart.

I have to drive up and down the pass on Saturday. I will leave an hour earlier in the morning so I’ll leave at 6am. I get off work at 8:30pm. I will be driving in bad wintery weather, but what’s really bad are the turbulent winds in Northbend. My escape sways, I have to hold firmly to the steering wheel. Don’t want to smack into a truck ya know that wouldn’t be a good thing. Saturday just may be the day I meet my maker. I know that my life here on earth is fleeting and I could be gone just like that. So, I take one day and challege at a time.

I will be strong and drive smart and safe and say my prayers.

If you have any driving in snow suggestions please leave me a note.

My suggestion is just drive slowly. Try to stay in the tire tracks of the cars that are in front of you. Leave plenty of space between you and all other vehicles. Pump your brakes if you have to slow down or stop (unless you have ABS). If the weather is really THAT BAD when you finish work, see if you can either stay there & sleep until morning or go home with someone from work that lives nearby. Or, worst case scenario, get a motel room. Its not worth risking your life if the roads are impassable. I will keep you in my prayers this weekend. I am actually craving snow right now. I was thinking about it today.

don’t ever slam on your brakes., be careful out there! so glad i live in the desert. its going to be in the 80’s tomorrow. yay.

Trust your guardian angels. They have seen you through this far and they will be there for you now. Your time isn’t even close to being up. But do get that kit together. You can do this. Look at all you’ve accomplished and all the adapting you have done in the past year!

i’m scared to drive in the snow, too. i hope you had a safe drive…
