FLY BABY
Did you know that it takes 28 days to make something a habit?
I would focus on this saying when I used to go to the gym and do my spinning classes. I could never make exercising a habit. In fact I don’t have any good habits. I don’t know how my sister, the rich one, can make good habits. You really have to in order to run all the marathons that she has ran in the last three years: Seattle, Boston, Chicogo, San Diago. She is so driven and focused. I can’t even make it a routine to go the gym three days a week for more than a month. I have all the best intentions like buying cute work out attire, new sneakers, gym bag. I had the look but no motivation. I haven’t gone to the gym in over three years. I haven’t done any type of cardio in three years. I used to go to 24 hour Fitness but cancelled my membership. Why spend $20.00 a month for nothing.
I’m two weeks into habit making. I’m obsessed about this new soon to be habit. I’m just a Fly Baby now but have aspirations to be a super fly. Are you wondering what I have been up too? I have been cleaning my sink until it shines, 27 Fling Boogie, policing hot spot fire prevention, 5 minute room rescue, wondering why I’m not wearing my shoes, re-booting my laundry, working in the zone, home blessings.
Somebody here at OD introduced me to FLY LADY
BigBoy is a happy man, although, he thinks I have turned psycho on him during these last two weeks. Instead of buying new clothes, I bought the new Hoover Floor Mate. Ya, I know that The Limited is having a pant sale, but quite frankly I don’t give a damn. I want clean floors. I’m very focused on obtaining this habit. If my sister can ran 26 miles, I can certainly keep a tidy house. I’m starting to be obsessed in a good productive way. “OMG you put your bills on the dinning room table” The bills now have a special place in my study in his file drawer that has a file labeled monthly bills. Tonight, I ran around the great room doing a 5 minute room rescue. Grabbing cups, nail clippers, shoes, magazines, The men were glued to the boob tube watching Lord of the Rings. I’m running around in a whirlwind cleaning the room in 5 minutes. Yes, indeed, things are changing around here. The house is slowly decluttering. I don’t dread coming home to a dirty house. I can know have visitors and not hide from them. BB thinks I’m one Sandwich short of a picnic but now he gets to have clean socks because I have rebooted the laundry and know what is clean and what is dirty. No more days of washing clean clothes. God I hope I can make it the 28 days….pray for me.
I have also coerced my sister into joining. She is rather reluctant, but her husband and daughter are very interested. Their house is very very messy. I really hope my sister can be successful. I’m having some doubts though. It would be a miracle.
Got to get off the computer and finish up with my flygirl note book. Each section of my note book contains my morning routines, bedtime routines, daily routines, home blessing and all the room zones. You got to keep all this stuff organized. I forgot to mention that everyday I get a ton of email telling me what to do. This is great because I need this added motivation.

…emesis! That is a GREAT word. I will totally have to use that! Thanks! I read the FlyLady’s website today at work (I was REALLY bored). It was quite entertaining and educational! I hate clutter so our house isn’t too bad except that our dishes pile up… I’m going to try to keep my kitchen sink shiny now.
