RE: WORK STUFF
I have today off!!! a three day weekend I had to work 16 hours last Saturday because the weekend double nurse had a headache. I couldn’t find another nurse to work on such a short notice. This is one of the reasons why I can’t wait to demote myself back onto the floor because the responsibility of staffing healthcare workers is enormous. I must say that all the caregivers were on their best behavior knowing I was working on the floor alongside of them.
We have hired a new RNC–my favorite nurse is coming back on Nov 4th. We have worked together for three years here at Mystic Bay Memory Care but when the state of the art assisted living facility next door was unveiled she swooped over there and claimed the prestigious title of the DNS–but you know what the grass isn’t always greener on the other side. So she is coming back to reclaim her former title of HSD (health services director) It’s a win-win situation. She slips back into her old office and plays with the paper work and manage people and I slip back onto the floor doing what I love- taking care of my 51 patients.
RE: THE HOUSEKEEPER/NEIGHBOR
We told her she had 7 days to vacate our premises-on the six day I started to pack up her stuff which I discovered was shoved into every nook and cranny in our home and garage. Found clothes in our closet! If we don’t boot her out soon she will end up staying here for a much longer time. In Washington State if someone stays in your house for over an extended amount of time, you can’t evict them you need to go to court to plead your case. A know this first hand because I had a neighbor that had a meth addict daughter living in his basement–doing and selling drugs. He tried to have her leave for fear of losing his house because of the drugs but she refused to budge. The police were called but their hands were tied they had to take the matter to court to get her the hell out his house. So now you can see why I’m so uptight up this situation
The neighbor is very sweet and apologetic on the 7 day grabbing her clothes and stuff and shoving them into trash bags. Our truck was backed up and ready to take her bed to the new house. I was more then happy to help her unpack her things in her new place.—-OMG This new place is really an old place that needs to be condemned. Her slumlord should not be renting out this house to her and her foster daughter. It’s not safe for a human to live in. She explained the mold was going to be cleaned up and new carpet installed in some of the rooms. The stench of dog crap, cat crap, mold, nicotine was making my stomach turn upside down. Low popcorn ceilings, dingy lighting–and why was it taking so long for the lights to turn on–electrical should be inspected by a professional. The neighbor is not mentally thinking straight right now this place is not ready for an occupants. She told us the rent will be only $100 a week until the cleaning up is complete and then the rent will be $800 a month…
We did offer her the use of our camping trailer it’s really cute and clean. She would be able stay at the very nice KOA rv site, but she declined. She is not thinking straight, maybe she is off her Bi-polar meds? I feel so bad about her niece she is fostering. Her own two children were awarded custody to her x-x husband. I don’t understand why she is allowed to foster her sister’s kid when she isn’t allowed to have her own kids back.
Once upon a time she lived in a beautiful house, she once told me her husband was fabulous, but now I know it was all a lie. She has had the pursian rug pulled out from under her now she lives in the middle of nowhere in a mold infested rotten old house that smells so bad your insides turn. I wonder if her husband is laughing now.
I can’t help but not feel guilty today.
