Doggie-vs–Snowboard

I’m feeling so blue tongiht thinking about my black baby, my 4 legged baby. I love her so much you truly are my best friend. Sometimes I say my “only friend” I can see you now sitting in a cage at the Pet Pavilion animal hospital. I love you Nellie! I’m moping around the house wishing you could be here at home where you belong. Baby Tuck doesn’t understand where you are hiding. He has his pull toy in his mouth and he is wandering around looking for you. I hope the staff are taking good care of you.

If only I made you stay in the cabin. You wanted to come out and play with me and the kids. I knew how much you loved the snow and 2 feet of fresh powder–I just couldn’t keep you inside. Kev and I had discovered an awesome snowbaording hill behind our cabin up in the back country. The perfect place for me to practice snowboarding. (I want to act like I know what I’m doing before I go to the resort) We named it “Enchanting Hill” which is surrounded with old growth cedar trees. We could even hear the music from the ski resort. Kev and I would take turns using his snowboard–it really sucked having to walk back up the hill though. I was having the time of my life and doing really good even though I don’t have any ski boots. My Sorrels had to do for now. I have discovered that snowboarding stuff doesn’t come cheap.

My dog was having so much fun playing in the snow with us. I’m so sorry that her fun ended so abruptly. She has a bad habit of chasing after me and Kevin while we are snowboarding. She liked to try and run ahead of us and make attempts to knock us over. A snowboard is a dangerous object–I soon found out.

It was the last ran of the day–go figure! Kevyn fell and hit my dog with the top of his snowboard and nicked the dog’s hind leg causing a laceration and possible fracture. It was really hard for me too stop the bleeding and then trying to get the dog to the car. We have to hike out to civilization about 1/2 mile in about six feet of snow. Our dogs don’t have snow shoes yet. Poor doggie. So now she sits in a cage tonight. She was supposed to come home but her lab results indicate that she also has pancretitis. Poor doggie. Please wish her well.

She’ll be okay… you did your best for her and it’s not your fault that she got hurt. I hope the pancreatitis isn’t anything serious.

Nellie IS beautiful. I adore Rotties! 8)
