BOO

I just lite my new hot apple pie candle. It smells so homey, and gives me much comfort on this cold, dripping fall afternoon. I’m so proud to report I didn’t buy everything I drooled over at Target. I ended up placing a really supper dupper cute Halloween coffee cup back onto the discount shelf and an olive green sweeter with big,Big black buttons back onto the rack. So today is the day I start saving money and stop buying frivolous things. So with that said and done I will pledge to myself for the next 299 days, I will no longer do Target, Barnes and Nobel, Costco, Limited, and The Loft runs. These glorius shopping days are a thing of the past. You see, my wedding weekend is planned for Augest 25, 26 and 27 of 2006. I need to save a chit load of money. I can do it! (my new mantra)

My father’s Birthday is Sun, August 27–So this date is very fitting for me to tie the knot or in my native culture -wrap a blanket around us.

I have my wedding contract neatly three holed punched and placed into my new makeshift wedding binder. I have two weeks to review and sign it before Mr nice catering manager puts my dates back on the chopping block. My family doesn’t have a problem with a Friday evening wedding..like they really have a whole lot to say about it because it’s a mandatory must do. I’m the last daughter of 6 to get married. It’s a big thing!!!!

I don’t no very many 40 year old women who are planning their first wedding. I’m an abnormity of the female species. If you told me when I was 16 years old that I would be finally getting married at 40 I would ask “what you were smoking”. Seriously, I don’t feel like a 40 year old women. I have the spirit of a 16 year old–just like my dementia patients. I love to ask them how old they are and I’m so delighted to here that most of them will tell me they are 16. I could only hope feel like a young spring chicken underneath all my wrinkles when I’m 90.

just a few pics of my wedding venue

I took this one

I will be having a native amercian wedding ceremony..so there will be no white wedding dress–Baby Sis says I should wear BUCK SKIN per our Northwest native culture.

Waiting for my man to come home-he is out hunting ducks!!! Craig and I have been home alone. We are driving each other crazy. He hates how I talk to my dog as if she is human. Come to think of it..I hold complete conversations with my dog Nelly. She just looks at me nodding her head in agreement. My dog is my baby.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE

So it just took you a bit longer to find that absolutely right guy – because, goodness knows, you only want to do this once!

RYN…thanks for the advice on the dementia drugs. I’m going to try to make my mother see reason and get my dad to the doc ASAP. Sigh. Not easy. Your venue looks beautiful. It’s going to be a great wedding. As for getting married the first time around at 40, maybe it’s an oddity where you are, but here in New Englahd there are *plenty* of first-timers in their late 30s/early 40s.

I’m really happy for you. Your site is beautiful. We have a wedding on August 22. Forget age. It’s far better to marry happily than to marry young.

my sister was married and had her first baby just before she turned forty. i think it is cool that you are planning your first wedding at this age. you have maturity behind you to make wise decisions.
