A New World

Peaking inside my diary space here and from the looks of it I need to dust it off and shine it up a little. It’s very dark in here

Now, that’s better. I can see clearly that I’ve been gone for a very long time.

If your so inclined to know what I’ve been doing, Well I’ll tell ya, I have been engulfed in my new way of life and my new community of people-my mountain friends. I can’t begin to adequately voice how happy I’m and how living the simple life is so much rewarding than my former way of living. I think back about our big 3400 square foot house and how we only used the downstairs, the upstairs was basically storage of all the stuff we bought and didn’t really need.

My husbnad and I are volunteers for the national park, we have adopted a park. Asahel Curtis Park near Denny Creek. I bet you didn’t realize that you could just take over a park..but that’s exactly what we did. We even had a paid ranger work for us in the aid of cutting down dangerous trees. We cleaned up the park which had been neglected for years. It feels so good to see families having picnics again alongside the river. I see the same vistors stopping by and having there own quiet devotional times in the park. My husband even made wooden benches from the fallen trees, these benches have been placed on a bluff alongside the river. Now that’s something to feel good about. We really do take pride in keeping the park clean and my husband is obssessed with the out houses smelling good and litter free. I was once a girl scout and would volunteer in the community like pick up litter, collect food and clothes for the homeless. It feels so good to give back to my community knowing full well that I have made a difference.

We have lavishly been rewarded for the hard work we do for the park and received 8 cords of wood for only $40.00. This wood will keep us warm next year. What comes around goes around and when you do good for the community and the envirnomnet it comes right back to you 10 fold.
