EARTHQUAKE!!

at work, we are having a new air conditioning unit installed.  its on the roof of the building.  so, while we were planning today, about 1:55, i started to feel a little shake, kinda like when someone has their legs crossed and is bouncing their foot.  then, the windows started rattling.  we thought it was the people on the roof and my team leader was like "enough, lets get planning, FOCUS!!"  so we were like, yeah, its the air conditioning guys.  the new teacher turned and looked out the window and said its not even windy!  my assistant said, could that have been an earthquake??  we thought no, THEN the shaking got really, really strong!  my team leader shouted "GO!  IT IS!"  and we ran out into the hall, then back into a doorway lol.  my principal came on the loudspeaker and said "i don’t know what is going on but i need everyone to leave the building immediately"  and we hurried out.  i was worried about my phone lol.  we all stood outside and admin checked on everyone and we were finally let back in.  we tried to get in touch with everyone and everyone is ok.  my assistant’s daughter was really shook up.  poor girl!  then, the custodians came around and were checking for cracks.  lots and lots of cracks in the seams of the walls.  my new room is fine, my old room has 2 floor to ceiling cracks on the outside walls.  glad i moved!  we were dismissed from work an hour early and we are not sure if we will be allowed back tomorrow.  we probably will. 

between the earthquake and the hurricane coming up the chesapeake (that should happen sunday), i’m thinking its going to be a wild school year!
