Miss Holly.

I don’t recall if I’ve ever talked about how shitty the vet that works at our shelter is. He’s literally 81 years old, is a miserable old man and I swear he hates his job. I don’t think he even likes animals, unless it’s a Golden Retriever. He thinks he is God over the entire shelter and his word should be equated to the bible.

Anywho… often times we have to "sneak" animals past him. As in, he’ll dub them unadoptable for some stupid reason and us employees don’t have the heart to euthanise the animal – so we either wait to spay/neuter them on a day that he doesn’t work or we sent them off to a local rescue.

Holly, my yellow lab mix, was one of those dogs that he dubbed unadoptable.
Because when she saw him, she went kujo crazy.
Probably because he man handles these dogs like they’re a slab of meat.
So, she was "man-aggressive" and unadoptable.

Well… here’s my horribly aggressive, unadoptable dog…

Admittedly, she is a bit apprehensive of men. But if someone takes their time with her, she warms up in less than 30 seconds. Rather than yelling at her to shut up, like the vet did.

But, she’s obviously a pretty awesome family dog. 🙂
