34 weeks. Belly Pics

30 weeks and 34 weeks.

So, I’ve finally gained a little weight after not gaining any for 3 months. I’m up to a 17lb gain, now.
I think I look a lot bigger than I feel. I’m still doing everything at work. Lifting 65lbs, restraining dogs, snaring aggressive dogs (that takes a lot of stomach muscle to push them around on a 6 foot pole!), climbing into 3 feet tall kennels, getting into ground level cages, on my feet 9+ hours everyday. I have gotten absolutely zero "special treatment" at work for being pregnant. Ah well. It’s probably why I’ve gained a lot less weight this time around, and hopefully being so active will mean an easier labor, faster recovery and speedy weightloss.

I’m getting all my birth supplies ready. I ordered some things from InHisHands.com and am heading out to the store to get the other items I’ll need. And then maybe in another two weeks I’ll worry about making sure the kid has clothes. Just kidding. He has clothes. But I do need to get nursing bras, a few other baby items, diapers, etc.

My midwife will be doing a home visit in a couple weeks. I talked to Josh’s mom about being there so she can ask any questions and get concerns out of the way prior to the big event. She’s not exactly pro-homebirth, but she respects my decision, hasn’t made any rude comments to me about it and is being supportive of me. I’m sure she’ll have questions/concerns, though. Better to get them out of the way. She’s probably going to be there for the birth, so I hope she can be calm and relaxed about everything. She told me last night that Josh’s sister expects to be there for the birth. Ha! I told Josh’s mom absolutely not. Alisha has not exactly been the nicest person to me, she’s got a horrible, snarky attitude and I refuse to have that around while I’m in labor. She feels like she’s "entitled" to being there ’cause it’s "her nephew". Well, it’s MY baby. So, there. I told Laura that after the baby gets examined, everything gets cleaned up and we’re all settled, she can come over a visit. Alisha’s own sister doesn’t want her there when she’s in labor, and she’s due at the beginning of December. Sucks for her.

I soo envy your homebirth. I have wanted one with the last two but with my high risk and clotting issues its just not an option. So I’ll yay your awesome-ness! And yay you for sticking to your guns on who you want and don’t want there! It’s YOUR birth. You deserve it that way YOU want!
