So, I played hookie today. Gabe was up all night coughing, Xavier didn’t fall to sleep until after 10:30pm cause he napped after the Christmas party yesterday and I had a killer headache this morning. Sick pay is always nice.
I took Molly to the vet this morning. Her eye was examined again, and it’s completely dead. They called me about 2 hours ago, and her surgery went well. They’re keeping her over night and Josh will be picking her up tomorrow at 3:00pm. I made payment arrangement that is hardly an arrangement ($200 down and the remainder in 2 weeks via post-dated check) but, she’ll be better – so that is what’s important.
It just dawned on me that Gabriel will be three on Wednesday. THREE!
Which means Thursday is the first day of 2009.
Which means Josh leaves very shortly. I’ve been trying to ignore it as much as possible, but it always pops up here and there. And the time is really creeping up on me. I dropped off a check to the babysitter today and mentioned my possible change in work schedule, and how it will work out really nice while Josh is gone. And at the moment it really hit me. At the latest he’ll definetly be "gone" in March. Earliest, February. He’ll be able to come home once or twice before June. But then he’s gone for good until his R&R. -sigh- I can’t decide if it’s better to stay in denial or sit here and think about it until I go crazy.
We try to focus on the good things after the deployment. Like, him being home for 30 days after and us going on a disney vacation with the boys and our own tropic vacation. But then there’s him being gone for another 5 months doing training for border patrol. But we get to look for a new house in AZ or TX (where ever we end up..) while he’s training. And good things while he’s deployed. Mostly things like having the extra money to do things like put in new flooring, replace the furnace, buy the material things that would be nice to have like a flat screen TV. lol ‘Cause deployment money is nice, but…
Blah.
I have a crazy headache and should atleast clean the house a bit while the boys are entertained with playdoh. -nods-
