Another day to myself. It’s very nice,  I don’t have to go back to work ’til Friday.

I got mauled by a cat yesterday. That was interesting…

It’s not abnormal for me to return home with a few scratches here and there. I’d had them in the normal places, like my hands and arms. But they also appear on my belly at times. Stupid cats. However, yesterday was different. I was carrying a cat (who had just returned from her foster home, which she was in because she was chemically burned all along her back and it’s taken forever to heal…) who was going to be spayed to the surgery room. I was holding her correctly, via scruffing her and supporting her bottom. As I walked into the surgery room, I opened up the door to let one of the girls I work with know that she was here for a spay, and a dog who was also awaiting his castration barked.

Cue cat freak out.

Freaked out kittie climbed my shoulder, then my face, and onto my head where she left several scratches while trying to get out of my hair.

So, I have 3 scratches on my face, several on my hand/arm/shoulder and many on my head. Josh (my partner at work, Josh. My Josh and my partner Josh are very similar, too, and it’s scarey.) was, literally, pulling cat nails out of my hair all day.

"Taylor!! Don’t… Move…"
"What are you doing Josh?!"
"Don’t move! You have a cat nail in your HAIR!"

Mhm…

And then when I was laying in bed last night with (my) Josh, I felt a bump on my head. He looked at it and it was an infected puncture wound from the stupid cat. (My) Josh has an insane obsession with popping things. Seriously. He will ask to look at my back to see if he can pop anything. He will pop anything and everything anywhere on his body. And will ask me to pop the unreachable things. Ew.

He tackled me and wrestled me until I was pinned down and then popped said infected puncture wound on my head and then proceeded to let out an enthusiastic "Ooooh!" and show me all the yellow-y puss that was the end result.

Never a dull moment, I swear,

Oh. And… Josh may not be getting deployed. Talk about emotional roller coaster.

Whoooooa that would be so wonderful! But I hope they don’t get you (and him) too excited and then still deploy him anyway. 🙁
