I had a wonderful 4 days off. And when I returned to work this morning, I was there 2 hours before having to walk right back out the door.

When I went to the bathroom at work this morning, there was bright blood in the toilet water. Eeep! I checked vaginally, and my fluid was clear/white. No sign of blood. So it had to have been in my urine. I haven’t had any since that time I urinated. And no symptoms of a UTI other than the mysterious blood? No burning, no pain, no cramping.

I called my midwife (who’s at a birth. I felt bad bothering her, but she didn’t seem to mind.) and she suggested I go to the walk in clinic to be tested for a UTI. That was my plan up until I left work, but then started thinking about it more. I called her back and asked if I’d be able to treat it myself with anything, and she gave me some suggestions to try for the next couple days. Obviously, drinking tons of water. (Which, admittedly, I’ve been horrible about recently.) Cranberry juice and/or tablets. Vitamin C. Garlic. And Echinacea.

So, I went out and bought some cranberry tablets. I’ve got vitamin C. And I’m just going to drown myself in water and see how it goes. If I start experiencing any symptoms or continue with the blood in my urine, I’ll definetly seek medical attention.

In the meantime, I’ve scored another day off of work. And possibly tomorrow, too, if they won’t let me back without a care providers permission. Suhweet! Naptime.
