Watching series = inspiration

My friends are always 100% up to date when it comes to series. Me, I am kind of standing in the middle thinking how they manage to have enough time to watch everything. I really am a time struggler, I don’t know how to spread my time enough for every element in my life, my insight is horrible when it comes to that. I’m still trying everyday to gain more time by watching less TV and sitting on Facebook or whatsoever.. But thanks to watching series and my friends, I got to know The Carrie Diaries. On first sight it looked kind of cliché, not anything special. And maybe it IS; but let me tell you in short what it’s about and why I fell in love with The Carrie Diaries. It’s actually about Carrie Bradshaw, you know, the one from Sex and The City (Sarah Jessica Parker). The Carrie Diaries is to Sex and the City what The Hobbit is to Lord of The Rings. Well, maybe not the greatest comparisation ofcourse. It’s just about Carrie’s teenage years. And the first episode starts with how she lost her mother, how high school starts again, how she’s fashion obsessed and how she deals with daily teenage problems. But, one thing, in which this teenage series differs from all the others, she is in love with Manhattan and she has a hidden talent for writing, but she just doesn’t realize it yet. And just that combination of a girl who loves writing, fashion, dreams of making it in the city and dealing with her daily problems, makes it perfect for me. I love the character she plays, she’s very caring towards her friends, her sister, her father and everyone around her despite everything. She’s a dreamer, she overthinks, she is dying to explore the world and she can be complicated at times. I love who she is and she immediately became a character to look up to after watching the first episode. It even made me think of how I might someday want to become a writer at a magazine or something. My sister always told me from when I was like 8 that I should become a journalist or someone who works at a magazine. That she thinks I have great fashion sense and everything. I highly doubt that but maybe if I try really hard that I will accomplish something like that, but let’s first see if my interest in writing and fashion remains. I made another resolution for 2014: I want to write more regularly, maybe that way I practice my writing skills as well! Tomorrow I’ll be going to Antwerp with my 3 best friends to go shopping. Antwerp is THE city in Belgium to go shopping. I am now going to make a list of some things I would really like to buy, and tomorrow if there is time I will write about my day.
