Party. For a TWO year old!

When you’re pregnant people tell you that once the baby comes, time flies past you.

Boy is that true.  I blinked and she’s two!

I kept the party this year a little simple.  I reused the Hello Kitty theme from last year since the cake turned out so well.  I still kept everything fairly basic.

Here’s the banner:

I didn’t upload the photos of the balloons I bought, but there were only 4 and matched the banner.

The night before the party I put together her birthday present.  We got her a little fish tank.

Cute right? I love it and kind of wish that I’d gotten a bigger one.  Maybe in a few months!

Here’s the fish:

I decided on some Platy’s.  There’s a male and a female!  Should be fun!!

Here’s some of the party food we got creative with…Fish & Chips…

Get it?

About a half hour before people started getting there my Mom wanted to give Vivien one of the gifts she got her.  She knew she’d want to try it out as soon as she saw it, so it was a good idea.

My plan is to keep it right at the edge of the concrete there, but my Mom said she was getting nervous since Vivien was having trouble climbing up it at first.  She’s a pro now though:

We ended up moving it inside after the party.  Between the heat and the fact that it was oddly attracting bees it just made more sense for now.  Also did I mention the heat? I’d much rather rearrange the playroom than sit in sweat and she plays.  I’m selfish I guess, lol.

I didn’t take too many photos during the party.  That’s a hard thing to do, and it was mostly adults so there was more mingling than anything else.

Here she is being sweet while we sang to her…

You can also tell from this angle how I got lazy with the icing.  I made it ever so slightly too stiff and by the time I was done my hand was aching.  So I finished the sides a little sloppier than I’d like now that I can step back and see.  But I got tons of compliments on the cake anyways so I’m happy.

And here she is refusing to give Daddy a bite of her cake:

After dinner she had more cake and taunted the dogs with it…

Ignore the messy playroom.  She also got to eat holding her cake with her hands as she played because I was exhausted.  Party’s are kind of a lot of work.

Here she is enjoying one of her other gifts from my mother.

It was a really good day I think.  I’m so glad too that I took Monday off even if I didn’t do anything of value the whole day. I was running around so much this weekend that I felt like I didn’t get a weekend at all.

That’s about all I’ve got for now.  Happy Not Monday y’all!
