Easter Bunny!!

I’m not sure if I mentioned it, but by the time I picked Vivien up at day care on Wednesday she had thrown up a few times (by the time they called me I was about a block away as it started about 5pm).  So after a really messy ride home, she enjoyed the chance to relax and get to bed early.  Poor thing was wiped out too, and only wanted to watch movies and go to sleep.

It should be noted that just recently Vivien has started voicing an opinion when asked what she wants to do in a clear Yes or No fashion.  It’s been lovely, fascinating and kind of amazing to watch my baby voice her desires.

Thursday Officer and I swapped "shifts" with Vivien.  Since my bosses are way more flexible than his I left work at 2pm so he could go in on time.  His boss is an all or nothing, guy you either call in for the whole shift or get there on time so the option for Officer to wait (both of our preferences) until I got home at 5:30 wasn’t there.

Friday I was planning on taking the day anyways.  So in addition to finishing the hallway off (I started painting it a few weeks back and OMG it was the most frustrating experience ever!  My parents suspect it was done with Oil paint and that’s why I had such a problem getting the paint to stick (it litterally bubbled up) we ran some errands.  She still wasn’t 100% but was much better.

Saturday we spent the morning cleaning and hanging some pictures up.  Then went out to take this lovely shot…

I will say that she seemed fine until I stepped far enough away that I was out of the shot.  But, it’s the sort of photo parents love I suppose, and I promise I didn’t torture her too long like that at all. The photographer took 4 pictures total because I rescued her when she actually started crying about 5 seconds later.

After that we went to pick up my parents who’d arrived at my house while we were out, and we went to a German restaurant my parents are currently in love with.  I have to admit it IS like walking into a German restaurant at home.  Home is not Germany so I can’t speak to it’s authenticity-but it’s the closest we’ve found to what we call German food since arriving in Texas 20 years ago.

Here’s my Mom and VIvien tipping the band after they played The Chicken Dance.  We didn’t dance but Vivien was amazed!  I’ll have to show her how to do it some day.

Once home Vivien headed to bed pretty early and I went about prepping for Easter.

I hid everything in plain sight and planned on doing the eggs pretty much just on the sidewalk out in the open outside….

Here’s the bucket I got her for egg hunting. With eggs on the side.

One of her egg’s…

The bike/tricycle thing…

Her basket with the books on top of both the gift from my MIL and the too big for the basket easter bunny I bought.

The next morning it was pouring down rain when we woke up so I scattered the eggs around the house-still in plain sight and she had such a good time putting them into her bucket.

Then taking them out of the bucket.

Then putting them back inside.

And again, and again and again.  Word to those prepping egg hunts for small toddlers-it might be more fun for them to just have empty eggs as she was clearly less pleased to see candy or a toy than she was to put it in and out of the bucket.

She did however love the bike thing…

And was able to navigate just fine on her own.  She also spent the day trying to figure out how to eat candy while riding it.  It was great to watch.

We finished the day out with a nice dinner and Vivien took a LONG nap in the afternoon and went to bed early.  It was pretty fun 🙂

And this image is burned on my memory in a good way…how did my baby turn into a little girl so fast?
