Had a good but busy weekend. Friday I drove down to Galveston to spend some time with my sister and nieces. I wish I could have stayed longer, but work and other things made me be an adult about it and actually come home on Sunday night.
Also I think I decided that even if flights aren’t $60 to Houston I should just fly down, because if you can avoid 3+ hours in the car with a toddler you should try to do that.
Saturday we went to the zoo…
My Dad with all his grandbabies.
Vivien has embraced wearing sunglasses and pretty much keeps them on when we’re outside now. She looks so cute with them on!
I bought one of those backpack style harnesses as I think her days of sitting peacefully in the stroller are numbered and she doesn’t really like to hold hands. Of course I left it at my mother’s when we left so I didn’t get to try it out. I guess we’ll have to go to the zoo again soon! Anyways, she’d hold my father’s hand so that worked out ok.
She’s at the point where she refuses to smile for most pictures. Not sure what that’s about, but with the sunglasses she looks like a total diva when she gets in that mood.
Saturday afternoon we went to Hobby Lobby and I took the plunge and bought a $30 doll house kit with a 40% off coupon. So I think if it turns into a disaster I’ll be ok with the loss of money, lol. I’ve been reviewing the instructions and am now debating on trying out shingles or not and I’m also looking for some wallpaper and flooring materials before I get started. I need to also finish off the LOTR cross stitch but that should be done by Friday at the latest. I’m kind of excited as I’ve got some neat ideas for this doll house I think!
Sunday we went to take a family picture…
And I think it came out really nice!
Here you can see what I mean about Vivien and smiling…
I promise you she was in an excellent mood and when she wasn’t in front of the camera she was laughing and playing.
Here’s a cute shot of the two of us…
She does like making funny faces, this isn’t terribly clear as she turned her head at the last second but I think it’s funny…
That’s pretty much all I’ve got for now. Nothing too terribly exciting going on!

Cute pictures! I had one of those harnesses for Evelyn when she was younger. She was a bolter. She called it her ‘Elmo leash’ and had no problem wearing it. She loved it so much that she would often strip, put the leash on, and demand Ryan take her outside and walk her like the dog (who doesn’t wear clothes). She didn’t get her way that time.

ryn: Disneyworld is still the best because you have so many parks all together but I do have this pull to see other Disney parks. Last night I was reading about Disneyland Paris and it I’m super excited about a “land” they are opening that replicates Paris and a Ratatouille ride is the focal point. *swoons*. It opens in 2014 but exactly when isn’t clear. I’m currently planning to go toParis March 12 – 17, 2014 but might plan for a different time if that area isn’t complete yet. We’ll see….
