Yearly Update?
Dear Diary,
Goodness. There’s really no place to start. There’s really no place to pick up from where it was left off. No reason. No excuse. None needed.
If I were to hit the highlights of the past several months, I’d want to include the trip down south. Way down south where “Un mas margarita” was the favorite quote all day long. The trip that was all inclusive and the wristband made it so. The trip that was a mixture of happy times with good food, good fun, good friends and family, to watch the happy couple say “I do”. The trip that was somewhat “demanding” with the 80 year old grandmother of the groom. Bless her heart, she made the trip. And that’s all I really should say about that.
The brightest highlight took place a week before the trip. During a busy weekend that included another wedding AND a special birthday celebration, my son proposed to his special lady. His timing surprised her and me both. I knew it was a matter of time. And I think she did, too. He had it all planned as to when and how he’d ask the question, even who was going to be present. He had spoken with her dad 2 months prior. He made arrangements with the jeweler to order the custom-designed ring and gave her the final approval option (after he popped the question). But then in a moment of anxiousness (?), excitement (?), whatever, he proposed at 3 a.m. Well, that was the time they called me. Scared the crap out of me but it was all good.
So now the planning will start. Date and place for ceremony and reception are set. And that’s it for now. They have time as it will be next year.
What else? Back to school for 2 weeks and so far so good even though I have 5 preps. I really enjoy the enthusiasm of my teaching intern class. I have some real neat kids with some special talents in all of my classes. Hurricane season is upon us with 8 more weeks until it’s over. Hopefully we won’t have to use the emergency preparedness supplies in an emergency!
Would you believe me if I said I come to OD every day to read and do a little noting? But actually, writing has always been strangely difficult. I don’t know why. I don’t think why really matters. I would just like to change that. Guess I should just say no to a …
…yearly update?

RYN: Thank you so much. It was a very exhausting weekend. Glad to be home. Even though I am not crazy about all the studying, it does keep me busy.
