Within temptation

Next to me trying to get into the habit again of actually working on my thesis and also trying out different food regimes, I had something nice to do yesterday evening. Within temptation is touring the Dutch theatres with a special show designed for such locations. The show started at 8.30, the doors opened at 7.45 and I was there at 5.30. This was because, although this was a ‘seated show’, there weren’t any fixed places. Also, I didn’t no how to get to this venue where I had never been before. So, after more than 2 hours waiting in the cold the doors finally did open and I managed to get a seat in the middle of the 10th row, which is about as good as it can get. You would not believe the lighting effects that were used. It looked like there were revolving chandeliers with burning candles lowered down from the ceiling, and the ‘duet’ with a hologram-like Anneke, who looked to be really there. Naturally it was inevitable that people would eventually be standing up. At the last song before the intermission she asked whether we liked the seats, at which we obviously replied in the negative and stood up. The first half of the show ended a mellow and semi-acoustic set with a loud song. The second half was more like a concert with less lighting effects and the more familiar hit songs.

Things like this are a reason for living. Below a picture I stole from the internet.
