Tuesday I got an email inviting me to a job interview the following day. I had applied for this job via a friend of mine and it almost seemed as if I already had got it. The interview went OK, but the job went to someone else; someone who also had a friend inside.

Now that all opportunities via friends seems to have been exhausted it becomes apparent that I have to take an even more active approach. Moreover, I also have to start looking at jobs I don’t expect to like and jobs that do not require a university degree.

Today I updated my CV on all well-known career sites in The Netherlands, which means that if there’s someone out there looking for someone like me that then they can find me with the most ease. I hope they’ll start approaching me from tomorrow morning, but you’ll never know for sure. It might take longer, or it mightn’t happen at all.

Later this evening I will apply for a job myself, via email. I’ve found two vacancies that seem OK enough. At some point you have to work for your money. That you like it is a secondary consideration.
