Ineractive HD recorder
Yesterday I received the ineractive digital HD recorder I had ordered. A couple of days ago I got an email from my internet and television provider that I wasn’t using my television optimally. Naturally they said this with the purpose of selling me something. Their offer was something that I didn’t resist. I bought the recorder with a considerable discount. Knowing that the recorder would be deliverd I felt very anxious because I don’t like it when people ring the doorbell. I felt like I couldn’t doing anything for if the bell rang and would make me startle. Monday I got an email that they would deliver it Tuesday. After waiting a bit too long I left to see a movie. When I returned home they left a note that the would come the following day. It came in a big box with installation guide. Obviously, it wasn’t as easy to install as just plugging in a cable. It came with a broadband signal enhancer which actually has to be bolted onto the wall (which I didn’t do, for the moment it just sits on a table). The splitter that already was in place I had to remove. Then the software had to be loaded onto the recorder. When I finally got everything working I still had to make sure that every cable was hidden away (in as far as possible) and that my room looked OK again. Of course I felt obliged to do everything immediately, so my afternoon’s plans were disrupted.
I have to say that it is a formidable technoligal invention. The things you can do nowadays with technology. Now I can pause live television! I can watch movies On Demand. I have a subscription on Film1 which means that I can watch about 100 movies On Demand without extra costs. I can watch even more movies for a pay-per-movie fee. The image quality has improved significantly. Now it is worht having an HD television. And I can record movies in HD quality as well. This recording is of course not a new technology. Still remember the time of VHS tapes?
In the evening I used the new possibilites of this recorder immediately. I chose one the movies on demand to watch. Boogie Woogie is a comedy about art dealers with Gillian Anderson and Heather Graham. It was a fun movie with lots of famous actors playing stereotypical characters. I don’t think you can say very much more about this movie. It wasn’t earth moving or thought provoking. If you want to relax after a day of stress it was just right.
