buying new glasses
Today I thought I would go an buy a new pair of glasses, since especially in the long distance I can’t see very much anymore. Or at all. Reading street signs is difficult. It is even more difficult if you can’t even see the signs themselves. So I went to Pearl and they asked me to read letters from a chart. They did quite a lot of different test with different filters put before my eyes. Test with a cross in a circle and squares that should be right above each other (but weren’t). I got dizzy. Then she asked me the difference between two pictures. The first had two vertical lines and the second one (amongst other things). However, the main difference she was seeking was that the second picture was in 3D and the first was not. I didn’t see it. My eyes got tired and we quit the tests. In the end she fitted me with a test pair to look at the world. I saw several thing double, so that wasn’t good. I failed this round of having my eyes tested and made an appointment for a re-sit on another day and on another eye testing machine. This is something unexpected. You expect that the find out what glasses tot sell and that you then buy them. Now I have to come back for a second try. One question that has to be answered is whether I see depth. I always wondered. My maths teacher also put forth that question since I was very bad at geometry while I was very good at all other kinds of maths. You have two equal sided pyramids. Then you smash them together. Then you take an ant and have it walk on this new geometric form. Then you fold out this form. Draw the path that the ant walked. This was supposed to be an easy question, and maybe for some people it is.
