Best… honestly and kindly, I guess, if possible. Worst… cruelly, without giving an explanation, leaving the person for someone else/cheating on them, etc.

Since I was about 13 I worked really hard to improve my confidence/self esteem/negative self image/neuroticism/recklessness etc etc… and I’ve been pretty successful. There is nothing I am trying to change now.

No. Myself and/or the people I care about come first… not necessarily just family members.
